While going down the parkway, coming home from school tonight, I saw a red '95 Prelude up ahead. So I come up on him and I notice that he's modded. I see shiny pulished exhaust, clear rear side markers, and let's not forget the HUGH 'H' on the back windshield, and of course some 17" wheels. So I say to myself this guy will probably race me. (It's been a while since I've found someone to race) I pull past him slowly doing about 65, and when he's about at my bumper I hear him stomp the gas. By the time i threw it in 3rd he was at my door and pulled to about maybe 1/2 a length ahead. Then I catch him, look over and smile  (doing about 90), pass him, and get about a length on him. Then he turns off the Parkway. This wasn't the first one I've raced. I believe this one was modded slightly because he kept up pretty well. The other one I raced, I pulled ahead pretty quickly. Just thought I'd share my excitment for the night. It was fun.

nice kill. what do you have done? stock? i raced an 80's convertable mustang. i beat him through first gear but my syncros are bad so it took 3 attempts to shift into 2nd, then his rear bumper was where my front bumper was finally got into 2nd and he was barely pulling away. i would have wooped his ass if would actually spend the money on installing my spare transmission even if we could have kept going i would have pass him if i would have gotten into 4th but we were in a 30 zone. :sigh:

All I have you can see in my signature, only got CAI, except that I have recently put on a MOMO shift knob (believe it or not it actually helped my shifting slightly, mostly from 4th to 5th)

My latest kill was coming down the parkway(like and interstate- 4 lane highway)... like 2am .. coming from ny and some guy in a 96 grand am gt roars up next to me-- I'm doing like 65 and he speeds up and then slows down-- he had dual cats done with like 3+ inch tips- (LOUD!).. said supercharged on the side.. he also had a racing tach and all that good schtuff...
oh well.. he pulls up next to me and revs his engine.. then I look over and nod... we both go and he pulls ahead like a car length.. then my car hits like 4g's and I'm doin like 85 and I start catchin up and by the time I hit 100 he's just a tad ahead and then i hit 120 and then i catched him and passed him...
funny enough- I found out later on from a friend that those gt grand am's are governed to 117!! haha.. so by the time I hit 125.. he was lil bit behind me...

I am very much a prelude fan. However I bought a 240 over a prelude when i had the chance to buy either. You have "cool points" racking up.

I thought i was kinda cool to beat a car in the same class as me with more hp. But those cars just don't have the torque to go along with the power. I love RWD And like I said this kid was modded cause he kept up pretty well, even though I let him have first launch. Others I've raced didn't keep up as well.

jus to give you kids some insight
a 92-96 ludes are all in the same model frame
and a 95 lude S can have 135hp and 140lbs....
Or it coulda been a Si with160hp and 152 lbs...
Or it coulda been a Vtec with 190hp and 158lbs... and i doubt it cuz them jammys are hard to find in that year.... either way i wouldn't know unless i seen it.... Basically its jus dont get to crazy, the type S is the most common in those year ludes and there specs aren't all that amazing

When I said 95, I just meant it was that body style. It could have been a 96, I'm not sure. And there's really no sure way of knowing weather it was a Vtec or not cause knowing this guy, with the hugh 'H' on the back glass, he could have just slapped a Vtec sticker on there.
