ok at the local wrecking yard they just pulled in a 90 z32 n/a. i know the vlsd is about the best part to pull off for a 240 owner but im not to interested in that. is it possible to convert my rear to 5 lug using parts from this car? or is there anything else i should grab? they also got a 240 convertable 91-94 in recently, was this car offered with a factory vlsd? im probably going to get one off the diffs anyway to resell or use the output shafts

I just saw an excellent write up on pulling the axels and all and doing some weilding (mig or tig /I forget which.. welding) to make this all work.
grab it all...all suspention and axels.
I will look for the post and repost it...dxude was in the zone with it but you might need to contact him personally...It was detailed...
Damn it is in history on my work computer...I will look ..

yeah it would be nice to get the entire rear subframe diff, axles, hubs and all. i doubt the subframes are interchangable. yeah bill if you could get that info it would be great. it would be nice to find a way to do it w/o welding. and what about the front brake assembly, i should get all that as well. i can get the rotors redrilled and only other hangup is the brake lines correct? i may just get the brakes and not bother with the 5 lug rear. i was hoping it was similar to the s14 5 lug parts. is the z32 diff a direct bolt on? are the output shafts the same pattern and is the driveline the same if i were putting in my non abs s13?

Based on your question...
Get the subframe and retain your axel shafts. I will find the link how it was done perfect..Grab everything you can.
I am going for Q45 brakes, they are the way to go and new to boot. I understand their is a line issue with 32 brakes...but if you buy the front, grab it all. O45 fronts.
On Q45, it bolts up after cutting the rear shield away.
They are grandioso serious rotors and calipers and clear the stock...1995.

i'm about to go grab a diff out of a na 32 also. my question is... the output shafts... will my open diff shafts work or will i need to find vlsd s14 output shafts. i read up on it but i got confused as to what output shafts i can use. thanks!

ah yes, thank you matt. can i benefit by using the maf if im going to be using 370cc injectors on my ka24e? i got a quote of 400 for the diff and 50 a side on the brakes. i wasnt really interested in the diff anyway so it was a bit funny. i might pick up the breaks and maf if it is a decent upgrade. i almost bought a 85 corolla gts hatch with 42k miles as well. it was hit pretty hard in the front and required to much work, they wanted 900 for the car no title. my dad was eyeballing the s13 convert. i told him no, we already have enough s13's, give me a loan for some coilovers. needless to say he was quiet after that, and i wanted to wait on the brakes, so we just left. 50 a side good price for 300z brakes and calipers?

The rear subframe looked similar to the 240's... looked like it would be easy to bolt up (seems like the only way to get a TT diff in there, actually) but since I haven't tried it (no reason really) I'll just keep it as it seems similar. I think the linkage is slightly different as well (as on the Q and J.... just based on looks alone while rummaging through junk).
Thinks I'd pull (have pulled) off of a z32:
fuel pump (got that)
MAFS (got that)
diff (got it off something else :P)
rear hubs (with spindles and e-brakes if you wanna do the swap with a lighter rear spindle) (had that)
brakes (had that)
brake lines (almost pulled it)
brake master cylinder (is the clutch MC different as well?)
wheels (getting for slicks)
