SR20-S14

Im making plans for my sr20 but im still unsure of some things. First off i haven't decided top or bottom mount, i think bottom mount is easier. But i'm going for a mild set up with about 300 horse, that seems to be the magic number. I'm going to have a gt2871r with internal wastegate , and a AEM tru boost stand alone boost controller. A Z32 MAF, a greddy fmic, i then would like to run about 10-12 psi for a while till i can afford to upgrade my fuel system to 550 cc hks fuel injectors, a FPR and a 250 walbro pump, then i would like to have a boost ranging from 10 psi maybe even to 18 psi. my biggest worry right now is what do i need for an ECU, i can't afford anything insane, i would just like to have some more information on that and anything else i may have over looked. Could i even leave my ECU stock at 12 psi until i upgrade my fuel system? i already have a 3 inch HKS exhaust, a greddy bov and hks intake.
I wish i had the answer for you but im not familiar with that particular turbo. I hate giving out bad info especially in the tech section , for your ecu you can flash your ecu if you do not want to buy a stand alone. Good luck

Why a t2871R? That is stupid.... Go with a GT28R should get close to that and have a lot of torque at low rpm and spool up.... Dump some cams and a greddy intake and call it a day.... Everyone in their right mind around 300hp has this setup.... Either go enthalpy or better PFC with Steve Shadow Base map tune... call it a day....
2871R for that power range is a waste of money, waste of a turbo and it won't even bee efficient at 10 or 12 psi in that range.... There are a lot of threads on this so search....

2871 at 10-12 psi on stock ecu/ fuel isnt a great idea

You need to tune the ecu regaurdless for the z32 maf to work. You can go with the safc 2 to get the maf to work if you wanna go the cheap route. But, if i were you i would just make sure i have everything and then drop it in. thay way you don't have to tune it twice. As far as tuning goes you can go enthalpy or get a apexi fc and get steve shadows to give you a base map.

you need to replace the fuel pump regardless if you install the sr, stock one's are usually toast.
