im debating if i should go with a GT28R, or a 06/07 STi Turbo...
what do you guys think?

anyone ever ran a STi turbo on a SR? How was it?

STi turbos are usually the first thing to go when STi guys want power. They're pretty small, prob around the same a gt28. I would go with the gt28r, just because it won't require any custom fabrication.

isn't it just a custom flange / waste-gate?

its not like im trying to get 500HP... im just trying to get around 300 - 350. I know I could do that with a GT28R, just wanted to be different and run the STi turbo.

isnt a standard t3 flange, its a 3 bolt flange.

No point, its dumb. You need a custom exhaust manifold, the hard lines are different, custom downpipe... Dont do it. I sat my old VF30 next to an SR manifold before and said fuck that.

Zilvia and "being different." :ugh:

Why waste money or time fabricating something which offers no real performance advantage over something that bolts right in? It's one thing if it had some advantage... it doesn't.

Stop being a hard parker and spend time making your car actually cool.

yea, using a subie exhaust is pointless unless you have the materials and skills to fabricate the install and get the turbo for free. even then i would just use a T28 that bolts right on and has countless manifolds and downpipes that work with it.

someone already did the evo turbo 20g twin scroll installed on an sr20...

and boobs13 i think itll sound the same as any other 2.0 turbo engine.

subarus sound retarded due to the way their boxer engine and manifolds sit.

Coming from a former WRX owner I would say keep your money. There are better turbos you can get for the money :)

Glad someone thought further than two feet.

The way subarus sound isn't because of the engine's position. It's due to the manifold being extremely unequal lengths, thus creating that craptacular rumble.

Why would i use a Subie exhaust?

wouldnt i just need a STi Flange and a custom downpipe pretty much?

i would only do this if you are getting the turbo for free or super cheap and you have some sort of fabrication lined up for cheap
