Why do you want to know the temp of the radiator
You need to know what the engine temp is.

Why do you want to know the temp of the radiator
You need to know what the engine temp is.
There is no engine temp sensor so my best bet is to get my coolant as cold as possible which will bring down engine temps.
All the temps above would be rellevant for the upper hose. I knew those all ready. How cold should my coolant be coming out of the radiator is my question.

I know i cant be the only one that doesn't understand this logic.
Say that if you get the inlet coolant really cold will not guarantee that it will keep your engine colder. Not to mention the Engine need to be at a certain temp to it will pull fuel or it will run really rich.
If you get an air bubble in the system or the water pump dies then the engine will over heat and you wouldn't know cuz you'll be reading the rad temps.

If air gets in the system or the water pump fails water no longer travels thru the radiator. Therefore not getting colder and just absorbing more heat and rising my temp guage. That's all besides the point. I want to know how cool my coolant should be getting when it comes out of the radiator. It goes in at 170 safely so what should it be colling down to?

Sorry to bump and old thread
My Car runs about 180-185 on the highway doing around 120km/hr when its like 30 degrees or (86 Fahrenheit) outside.
when its like 25 or 77 Fahrenheit outside my car runs like 170-180 on highway
is this normal?
sometimes when sitting in town at lights etc it will get up to 190 when its 30+ degrees outside and 180ish when its like 20-25 degrees outside.
We are also very humid here.
this normal or?

I wouldnt really go crazy about it...get a colder thermostat if you want it to run a bit cooler.
