I got my Infinity Basslink sub in the mail today and installed it in my S14. The bass is excellent, slightly better than I expected from the basslink. I ordered it with the remote for bass level control and intalled it next to the power mirror controls...one of the best features!
Now, the only thing that needs to be tweaked is the amount of bass I get from the 6.5" speakers on the rear shelf. In order to get the sub bumping, I turn up the bass level on the head unit and the other speakers sound horrible (lower frequencies), but the basslink sounds good. Any suggestions?
I'll take some pictures by the weekend.

Adjust your bass gain on the basslink. I had mine where I had my bass all the way down on my head unit and it was maxing out my basslink. Just crank the gain until you get satisfied. You can't blow the basslink, it has an automatic cut off when it gets maxxed out. You'll hear it cut out like it lost power, and then come back on. I had the basslink in my Jeep and loved it. I'm putting two of them side by side in the back of my '91 240 hatchback, should give a good headache. :D

Yeah rufry is on the money for the quick fix, the alternative would be to install some "bass-blockers" to filter out the low notes to your mids and highs.
I too have a infinity basslink w/remote and I ended up wiring the remote inside my center console/armrest. While the remote is convenient I really don't have a reason to go tweaking the bass all that often.

having a head unit that has a seperate subwoofer pre-amp output is also good, along with having subwoofer control and frquency control on the head unit. i would highly reccomend a Alpine head unit to go along with it.

rufrydrsc2, if it ever stops raining I will go out and do some adjustments on the basslink's bass gain.
radhaz, I actually had the bass blockers in mind but wasn't sure if they actually existed or if I had dreamed the idea up. I'll check into those too if they aren't too expensive. I doubt they are difficult to install.
WhiteNissanS13, an Alpine head unit with the proper seperate sub adjustments would be great, however, I don't plan on keeping this S14 for too long to make such an investment. I'll have to be happy with the Sony that's already in it.
Thanks guys, I'm still planning on getting some pictures up, but not today since the weather is crap.
