i just got my car back from the dyno saturday and noticed i had a weird oil leak. oil is on the upper oil pan near the tranny. i have a SR20 which is fully built. everything on it is brand new. i used OEM nissan liquid gasket that came with the gasket set for the sr20. i used plenty of it so no leaks would occur.
i swept my finger on the cross member to get a good glimps of it and it clearly does not smell like oil. it feels almost like hydrolic oil. the steering rack is re-manufactured from A1 cardone. is there a certain procedure to prime the steering rack before throwing it in the power steering system? i put ATF in the reservoir but never tried to prime the rack itself. i thought maybe the rack came pre-primed with ATF already cause when i would push the rack in fluid came out so figured i wouldnt have to prime it.
the power steering pump makes no noise like its pumping fluid fine. i bought the steering rack for replacement from the auto parts store.
