Please, read..
Some of you may have seen my car before...
some from the Photoshoot with Milton's (SCWEET) sc400, and some from the Wheel fitment thread.
I recently had a lot of work done to my S14 and it was my pride and joy.
as much as people say it's impossible to be unique, I beleive I built something pretty unique! it was ready for paint the plan was to do a custom candy purple, 6 days after my birthday, something horrible happened...
March 9th I was headed to school when a lady hit my car, in a freak and almost unexplicable accident.....
She crossed three lanes and slammed into my rear quarter panel, I watched "in horrer" in slowmotion
kinda" as she moved tried to drive straight through my car to make a turn.
the accident caused me to spin out and end up under a semi truck(18 wheeler) which dragged me for half a block..., I wasn't seriously hurt, but my car was destroyed!!!
I am very freaked out because LAPD came to the scene took a lot of notes and guess what? did not file a POLICE REPORT!
when I asked why, they said standard procedure when there is no serious injuries( no one is taken in an ambulance) they dont make an official police report,
HERE IS WHERE I NEED HELP and why I am posting this:
I know there was one witness, the police said someone had called in shortly after the accident, when I asked for a copy of the report or the witnesses info they said that I had to wait till the police report came out, now 1 month later I find out there actually is no report and the report the statement made is no where to be found.
If any one has any info or possibly saw this happen please contact me asap.
My lawyer is talking about dropping the case if we dont have the witness or the police report.I remember seeing a few 240's in the area and even after the accident I saw 240's parked nearby but there was a big crowd and I wasn't able to find any witnesses myself
please help by reposting as much as possible, I am also posting on Nico, and craigslist.

Thanks man, I know it sounds crazy, I I know a lot of people saw the accident, Hollywood is sooo busy at 5 pm there must have been at least 100 witnesses, I was so amazed no one came to help or give their name as witnesses...
I stopped so many times before to help or give my name as witness in acidents, especially with nissans involved,
I know the community is huge so there is a chance someone saw it.

shoulda had a gopro hero, that would have been a SICK vidharsh, but yea, i do agree it was a freak accident, got spun into a 180 jumped the curb b..back into the street, then hit a 2nd car, then kept sliding across 3 lanes, and hit the rear wheels of the truck, by some miracle I didnt go under the wheels, they spit me out to the side ad=nd i got caught by the rear tail/bumper of the semi which caught on my fender and roof, and dragged me..
omg i saw this at the track a couple months ago, it was so dopee! Im glad to hear your okae. hope you get everything settled!
well, car is professionally upraised and all so so I would get the entire value of the car, the problem is without a police report, or a witness i have nothing,
I am hoping someone who saw it happen sees my threads I also posted on craigslist and nico.

Yes there is partial video footage, but it only captures the final collision with the truck and not the most important part!

Yes she does, perfect damage on her fender(front) matching the damage on my rear fender, she says of course I shifted into her lane..
she also had a dog in the front seat!
the skid marks also show my car in the 3rd lane and then sliding into the curb, then spin marks, its crazy how no invstigation whatsoever by the insurance company even happens, they just came to my house and took pics then they said if i had pics i could send it to them..

I had 2 accidents. One I was t boned by someone running a red light (cops came no police report, and I got reff ticket) and the second one I got rear ended (cops came no police report again). Both cases my car was tottaled but luckily they admitted fault. Maybe try contacting her.

damn i hate the fact that she wont admit that she is at fault. Cops have to quit making excuses to not write a police report. If a life was at serious risk they should make an extra step to help evaluate future situations. Its their job and should fulfill tax payers money. Thats from my perspective

F'in cops man. Dumbass motherf'ers. About same thing happened to me over here.
3 lane one way road, i was in left lane, dude is in right lane, coming up to a green light at about 50mph, dude decides to cut across 2 lanes without signaling, outta nowhere just cut across like a drunk, i ended up T-boning him, my whole front end was pushed about 3-4ft in, his car kinda looked like your quarters. Cops decides he doesnt want to file a police report, so he says to exchange information, i didnt know at the time that a police report would make such a big difference in time. Ended up waiting 2 months after wreck with no car, but ended up getting double what the car was worth lol. Dumbass insurance company.
All the evidence should be on your car and hers. If the insurance company cant figure that out, then sue them.
What about the semi driver? he didnt see anything?
What kind of car was she driving? Get that money from that bitch.

I don't know if this has been suggested or not, but have you looked around the area to see if there are any cameras focused on it? You might've gotten lucky (or as lucky as you can get in a situation like this) and been in the view of a camera when the accident occurred.
Regardless, glad to hear you're okay. At least you walked away without injury.

Sorry for your loss Gabe, that was def. one of my fav. s14's on the forum. I didn't even realize that the police had a choice on whether or not to make a police report. Here in NJ, it's not up to them. They respond to an accident they have to write it up. Is that a Cali option or something?

05-10-2010, 08:28 AM
WTF? Is Cali so gay now that cops would rather harass imports and give out ref tickets than fucking do one simple job like file a fucking report?!?! How is that supposed to work out as far as figuring out whos at fucking fault during an accident? So if nobody got killed then its all gravy? Fucking idiots. If you dont collect money from the lady's insurance, then fucking sue the city/police department for being fucktards and not doing their jobs.

i thought you have to have a police report filed for any accident? atleast here in jersey it is...my car got backed into in a lot when i wasn't in the car and i still got a police report.
If a cop told me i don't need a police report after an accident like that i would definitely not let that go..

Yes, is an LAPD thing, tey dont file a report unless someine is taken by an ambulance!! Thats a fucking joke, one of the main streets in hollywood, 3 lanes each way, thr entire north side was stopped for like 2 hours, with 3 cars and a semi involved, and that was insignificant to them i guess,
I checked for cameras and the only one in the area captured only my final slide and impact with truck

If the person called 911 to report the accident then they should have records of the call including the phone number and possibly the name of the person.
If they did get the number but not the name you can subpoena the carrier for the name or the police can get a warrant.
That should get you a witness as well as a possible case against the police department for failing to properly file a report in a hit and run. That is a lot of property damage to not even investigate is ridiculous.

I work in NYC and there's accidents left and right here as well. Still doesn't mean they won't take a police report. I don't know how it is over in Cali but over here you are SOL w/o a police report to recover anything for damages. Not to mention how hard is it to do a police report. You are to put down the driver's info and the "story" that is given. It's not rocket science. Their job is not to "assume or judge" what happened but to put down the accounts from each party involved and their information. As you said, it's the insurance companies jobs to decipher all that info. Let's at least hope they checked everyone's info at the scene. Imagine, it was a felon on the run and they just let them go. Ah as far as Insurance goes in California, a Police report is not absolutely needed.
The Insurance companies will still decide amongst themselves regardless. Oh and people can retain injury lawyers 6 months after the fact. Even when there is no injury reported at the scene.
Its kinda fucked up.
Also pick your insurance company carefully. A lot of insurance companies fall down for injury claims and whatnot. i.e. give in immediately and just payout.
Gabe, What street did this happen on? Did you get her insurance company info and report to them?
I am glad you have a 911 call tape and witness account.
It sounds like a sticky situation its almost to bad your arm just ddn't get a little cut or something so they would have had to call a paramedic.

Dumb question, how would you guys get a new cell phone or something if it was lost? I had to do it once with Verizon and they said it couldn't be done without a police report. Also, what's to say that someone wouldn't trash their car somewhere and then blame it on an "accident". The police report is used as proof that the actual incident occurred where and when they said it did. A good example is that GT-R thread about the two young kids that are now facing felony insurance fraud charges. The car was used in an illegal race and was crashed. They tried to say it was an accident in another location and time. Luckily they got caught but those are the types of people that make the rest of us pay unusually high insurance rates (i live in NJ, we have the national high in this dept.).

We went to the station and filed our own report after waiting 3 hours.

Well for one you are abstracting the original statement into a generalized assumption.
Just because the Police will not file a report at the scene of an accident does not mean they do not file reports period. LOL It also does not mean you as a citizen cannot make a report.
As far as making a Police report goes? Anyone is welcome to go down to the their local Police station, substation whatever and file a report at the desk for the sake of reporting a lost item, stolen item, etc...
The Police even tell you this. You ask why? Ah because LA is a huge city square mileage wise, in fact much larger than New York in that sense(with lots of crazy shit going do a lot of the time LOL). The Police have to prioritize their calls because of this.
Now someone will pop and say hire more Police. LOL ya damn near broke city and broke state. Don't expect to see to many more Police being put on the beat. LOL
Oh and New York was the same way before Giuliani stepped in and straightened shit out. Broke and needed things fixed. LOL

Totally different world over here.
i would imagine we have way more accidents.
Everyone drives and no one car pools.
Most everytime, you can all the cops after an accident, and if everyone is ok, they tell you to call your insurence and they will not be sending a officer.
Although if its bad enough or a total, cops may come.
Girlfriend had her Versa totalled in Hollywod, and the cops said they werent coming. Just tow trucks.
Cops in La dont come unless someone is Drunk, injured or property damage.

I'm using a generalization due to the fact that people make it seem that the LAPD can do what they want. It seems funny to me that Cali or more in particular LA county has this "law" that allows them to do this. As where as probably about 90% of the US you would get a police report. I guess maybe the laws will change when people are paying NJ insurance prices due to false claims. I realize LA is really big but to use the excuse that it's so big they can pick and choose the laws they want to follow/change. :nono: It's no wonder why LAPD has been known to be the most corrupt police department in the country. I wonder how many other "laws" they've changed to fit their "situation".
PS - driftfreaq/ericcastro this is in no way a personal attack against you guys, just more along of the lines of a rant towards LA's laws. Just wanted to clear that up.
Eric,
Just glad to hear that your girl turned out ok after the accident.

I'm using a generalization due to the fact that people make it seem that the LAPD can do what they want. I guess maybe the laws will change when people are paying NJ insurance prices due to false claims. Eric,
Just glad to hear that your girl turned out ok after the accident.
LOL I never regarded it a personal attack nor do I think Eric considered it that.
What we are doing is stating how it is here.
No one said it was a law. LOL
In fact its completely up to the officers discretion all over the whole country. There is no law in any state saying a Police officer must make a report.
Its just a question of priorities and choices in any City or state.
Its actually the same way in San Francisco, except there they will not even come out to an accident unless someone is hurt.
As far as you claiming that the size of LA is an excuse? LOL Its not an excuse , its a fact.
Shit do you realize that because of the size of this damn city it will take over 20 years just to fix all the streets?
Is LA to big? Ya , well that was figured out a long time ago, hence laws against the kind of urban sprawl that caused LA. LOL
It has absolutely nothing to do with corruption. LOL Its a man power issue.
They are not changing or not following a law. There is no law stating they must make a police report anywhere. LOL
ericcastro
05-10-2010, 04:02 PM
Yeah, Im not offended.
I just think people in other places dont realize the size of LA.
And then remember, that EVERYONE drives here.
(I dont have one friend in NY that owns a car, lol)
I can drive east with no traffic and it will take over 2 hours to get out of the sprawl, about 2 1/2 hour south, just under an hour north, and 40 minutes west to the water.
No traffic of course, and going about 75mph on the freeway.
Traffic and accidents are all day long out here.
I think the cops just dont have the resources.
Our state is economically fucked.
So like the GF, and Gabe.
Big ol mess, tow trucks, cop might stop by, but thats it.
You literally just exchange info with the other party, call your insurence while you stand there, push your cars off the road.
And thats that.
(yeah, kinda crazy)
And live here.
LAPD DOES do whatever they want.
They have been for decades.

I was "lucky" when my S14 was totaled that it was during rush hour, on a major freeway, and only a few miles from a CHP station. CHP ran a block on the 605 S and took care of collecting info from the 5 or 6 parties involved, even though no one needed an ambulance.
If it was local cops away from the freeway, I would have had to fake a broken back or something. I still can't believe that with the amount of damage there wasn't a police report taken.

So even though i could have gon to the hospital, I didnt want to because the lady was trying to leave, she was telling the other drivers that she had a doctors appointment and she had to go, I said "fuck no! your not going anywhere!!!" till the cops get here, I had to kick my windshield out to get out of the car so she wouldnt leave, cuz both my doors were pushed in and stuck..

Good job on taking initiative and not worrying about societies views.(kicking a windshield out yourself instead of waiting for some help isnt considered normal, lol).
You reaction to a situation is why you are not responsable for your car and the truck while the police mark her down as a "ghost driver".

Its the law that they dont file a police report unless there is an injury.
they do have other more important shit to do here in LA.
well then fuck cali cops then?
cuz if a cop over here comes to an accident some1 is getting a ticket for it, and there is a report made.

Man I'm sorry for your loss. I remember mentioning how clean and nice your car was and asking about your wheels a while back. Glad things are lookin' up though. And as I was reading through these pages, I just want to get it straight.
The police ran her plates and arrested the girl who hit you right? Was it an older lady or a younger girl? I bet your adrenaline was pumping so hard that day it happened and she was about to take off (therefore you kicking out the windshield out of shear pissed off adrenaline).
Good luck with whatever is to come next!

on the positive side.
Your car just got fucked, or you are resposable for the accident, and you DONT get a ticket.
Because of my ghost car incident, i ended up being responsable.
At least they didnt bend me over and fuck me with a several hundred dollar ticket.
Guess cops in LA think that your increased insurance rate is enough of a head ache.
Or maybe a cop giving out a ticket that he assumes is correct is the stupid part. You cant just show to an accident and go,
"Um,..... well, i am gonna give you a ticket for "blah blah blah" because i am assuming "blah blah blah" happened."
I wished I had seen that window getting kicked out.
was it awesome to do, thinking back on it?
did you feel bad ass?
Like, you kicked the window out as everyone on LaBrea stared with their mouths open,

I don't know if that's a busy spot where the accident took place, but maybe going around the same time a couple of times and talking to folks might find you a witness. Just hope someone who works/lives near there makes it a routine to pass by everyday or so.
My girlfriend was involved in an accident 2nd week of Dec. and thankfully cops witnessed the accident and made it a clear cut case. Got more than what the car was worth and we're still in negotiation over how much she'll be getting in the end.

Let me see if i got this correct. It wasnt on Hollywood. It was actually on La Brea driving northbound, passed Fountain and headed toward Hollywood? I work just minutes from Hollywood and La Brea. Traffic is always nasty in this area and it's a bitch trying to make left turns. I'm always driving up and down La Brea to and from the CalNational and Chase banks over by Waring and Melrose. There are plenty of businesses around except for maybe on DeLongpre. Don't you get sited for posting signs up on the street without having proper permission by the city? I could swear I heard something on the news some years back and my boss was getting harrassed by the city about 2 years ago because one of her old tenants posted signs advertising his yard sale before he moved out of the country. Since the sale was on her property the city tried going after her for those yard sale signs that were posted around Hollywood. Careful with that.
Hope you can salvage your car and keep us updated on how your insurance company treats you.

Oh man gabe! Your car was almost complete... i've seen the progress of that car and completely understand the pride you have in modding your car through the years you have owned it. I'm just so glad you didn't get injured that bad. I guess instinctively kicking that windshield brought you back to your military training... that's bad ass!
I can completely relate to your major injury... being uncomfortable behind the wheel. I know when I got involved in a car pile up at 10 west by the La Brea exit, every time drive by there after the accident, the hairs in the back of my head would go up and I end up freezing for a moment. But after a while you get over it and be comfortable again. I think you are right, after you have gone past this whole situation, you'll get your confidence back.
I am so glad you are not hurt. I think that dog was a distraction. I know my dog sometimes distracts me when she's in the passenger side with me.

Two summers ago I was riding in an S14 that hit a pole, and since then I'm not comfortable riding in the passenger seat of any car. It's just something that tends to happen after bad accidents. I know you can go see a therapist for it, I never did because I don't have the time, but if it's something that continues to bother you even a few months out then you might want to look into talking to someone.

My girlfriend was in an accident 3 days ago when this idiot kid ran a stop sign and hit her rear quarter panel and made her spin. Police came and we had witnesses but no one seemed to want to give me their info. The police said it was the kids fault obviously and I asked for the police report. He ALSO said that there wont be one because there was no serious injury. I was pretty surprised at this but the kid admitted fault and everything is going good.
I hope you get that bitch. My advice is to go where u got into the accident and take pics of the skid marks and show what happened to the insurance company. Your insurance provider should be fighting for you 100%. If not I would drop them immediately.

uggghhhhhh.
dude, you cant bring any evidence into the courtroom that the other side hasnt seen.
I mean, shit, they even show that on the movies and tv.
Everyone knows that.
Have you gone to law school? Have you passed the bar? Have you practised for more than 5 years? Have you worked on multi-million dollar cases for any Fortune 500 company?
Do all that and then you can talk to me.
Have you any idea how many insurance cases I've worked on with just about every major auto insurer in the US?
Unless you're aznpoopy or OptionZero, and maybe a few others, you wouldn't understand how tough insurance litigation is.

tomorrow I am going to LAPD try to gte the report of her arrest, to see if the accident is noted there. not sure if they'll give it to me though.
You need to get a more competent attorney.
Just general info below to help you.
1. Your case is civil (insurance claim is based on tort/civil rules). The arrest is criminal. One has nothing to do with the other, especially if she pleads no contest to the criminal charge(s). A lot of lay people get confused and think that if there are criminal charges in an accident, then they automatically win the civil case.
2. Don't hang your hat on the police coming through with criminal charges to help your civil case. The most you can use is facts obtained by the police, and even then keep in mind that cops collect evidence to prosecute. They're not trying to help your cause. Keep that in mind. So don't be surprised if the police ignore things that may be helpful or crucial to your case.
3. Yes, you have to share evidence with opposing counsel, but you do NOT have to share any evidence you don't intend to use in trial. You need to bring all the facts to your attorney and decide which pieces to use. Then you only share those pieces with the other side.
You do not and should not share every single piece of evidence if you don't feel it's relevant to the case because it can give the other party a competitive advantage over you. You need to talk to your attorney about this.
4. You do not need a witness to have a good case. The forensics should be more than enough. I've gotten win with less evidence. If your attorney is afraid to proceed without witnesses then you need a new attorney.
You should have an open and shut case for any competent attorney. Good luck.

LMAO!!!
Oh knock it off.
I am right.
Just say it
Genius, if you have 3 pieces of evidence, and you only want to use 2, and if you feel the 3rd piece can give the other party an advantage, you only have to share those 2 pieces. The 3rd piece can fall under privileged work product of attorney client confidentiality and you do not have to share.
If you've been through law and evidence you would know that.
Threads like this can potentially wreck your case if anyone inadvertently post something that you think is harmless, but may be prejudicial to your case.
I won't give any specifics, but if someone found a vid of me dori dori and present it in court, I'm pretty much guilty of reckless driving even if my car was parked when it got hit. Do you get my "drift"?
That's what you get when you have people who don't know what they're doing pretending to know.
Ive been to court so many fucking times.

Going to court and knowing how to prosecute a case are different things.

But what I was saying is that if you are going to use it, then you gotta enter as evidence/show the otehr side, whatever its called.
I may not know all the ins and outs, but I do know the basics.
And I know you never share anything that could also incriminate you.
problem with small stuff like this is, the judges, espeially in LA, dont really give 2 shits.
it seems like the faster you make your case and try and get out of their hair, the better your chances.
Anyone I see long winded, usually just frustraites the judge and gets shut down.

spoken for truth. Judges in traffic cases in Los Angeles do not care if you can possibly prove the cop wrong. In fact they will rule based on the cops testimony. Why? This is quoted directly from a judge to me " my schedule is way to busy and the Police are more reputable witness's in my opinion"
So in other words what ever Gccvi6 says it does not fly in LA traffic courts. Like Eric said above, the faster the case is done the happier they are. So they tend to listen to the cops and DA and disregard the defendant and or their counsel.
Cops lie in court here and they win cases. I have seen it first hand.

the stuff g6civcx is talking about has nothing to do with traffic court.
traffic court = state v defendant. cali prosecutes crazy lady for driving like retard. OP is a witness at best and has virtually NO stake in the case.
civil court = op v crazy lady. OP tries to recover losses caused by crazy lady hitting him. there is no DA / prosecutor involved because the state is not involved with the case.

im sorry about your loss. i had a similiar sitchuation, i was involved in an accident with some one hitting me at 60 MPH thankfully it was an old pick up i got for free from a friend.. but the driver that hit me had no lisence, no insurance, and i wasn't hurt some how but police never filed a report. we bugged them and eventually had my insurance company bother the CHP about the report and they filed one. but it never went anywhere. the people got off scotch free mainly because technically ( i was at fault ) but my point is the worst things happen to the best people. you lost something dear to you but you may gain something out of it. i wish you luck

I do think once you become a senior citizin you should be evaluated every year with a simple vision test and something that would test their ability to react in a timley manner to a situation in a certian ammount of time. just last week an elderly man hit a woman and just missed her baby in a cross walk. luckly the woman pushed the baby out of the way but I believe she was paralized. He also kept going because he didnt know what happened....
I really dont know what the hell the crazy broad that hit gabe was thinking..::
Gabe have you checked for ANY camera around that could have captured the incident? such as a store parking lot, or the light on the camera at the end of the off ramp?
Im so glad you found a witness.
I hope you are keeping those wheels. just get em fixed man. Those were Godfather Gangster!!! just let em know that those wheels will have to be bought BRAND NEW!!.. :)

05-18-2010, 10:47 AM
During my many dmv visits, I CONSTANTLY see old people complaining about the vision test as well as trying to cheat. I do wish that the dmv kept track of driving instead of leaving it up to the insurance company for the most part. I also think that people should have to go back and take the road test as well as the written.
Anyways, that is enough of a thread-jack.
Soon people will be using gopro's in their car just to drive from A-B. My friend did that and had such bad luck that two people crashed into him. Lucky both instances were caught on video.

Any updates Gabe?
Yep, Lawyer sent the other party's insurance a letter stating that we had a good witness who confirmed my story and also talking about my injuries and such, waiting for a reply.
also went to pick up the wheels, yesterday, the 2 front wheels were lookig good, the 2 rear were not in such good condition
one had the lip replaced and on the new lip he did a round lip when my rims are diamond lipped!
and on the other which had retained the diamond lip it was all wrinkley and weird, I told them it was unacceptable and wanted him to match both lips if the diamond lip is not possible that ok but they need to match, and I wanted the second lip replaced too, I know it wont come out perfect, but I know they could do better. so the rears are staying at the shop for another week or two
Ill post pics soon!

i know this thread is old but...reading this makes me sad.. seriously.
i mean, here you are, not bothering anyone, doing your thing no differently then everyone else on the road and you get hit just for being there....we put so much work into our cars just to have this kinda shit happen and it seems like we "enthusiasts" always have to go through so much more work to achieve similar/successful results of others that have regular cars/claims....
I think i would have lost it once i saw the damage to the wheels.
Body,repairable with money...motor,repairable....exhaust,new one!....interior,fixable....
wheels.......OMFGWTFAREYOUFUCKINGKIDDINGME!!!!$(&*(&#(&@#YNLK .....
I hope you can get another set of wheels to justify your Kranze's cause i can understand your pain about the diamond/polish lip difference....that shit is literally rare as helll and shops cant replicate it....id be pissssed.
to other "ordinary" people shit happens, new car/etc etc....
happens to us....investigation, reports, witnesses, damage, i know its necessary but i mean....fuck.
its as much work as building the damn car
...seriously im starting to think the only advantage of being "into" cars is that i think theyre so fuckn cool sometimes...
your s14 is cool.
and like the guy said, weds kranze rapier?
Get that bitch.

Hi everyone,
Figured I would update with some good and some not so good news, since it's been almost a year now.
the so so news:
First lawyer turned out to be a lazy one, and wasnt putting forth the effort needed so I got a new lawyer, who I know handled some pretty big insurance lawsuits for similar accidents.
HE said we technically still have a year to sue and he wants to do it right, by hiring a reconstruction expert, which in my opinion is all that's missing for a closed deal.
Video footage: I finally got my hands on the footage of the accident, and it does not show the initial impact but it does show exactly what I reported(everythign but the initial impact by the black SUV.
I even had made a youtube video using a large scetch of the streets and model cars and the video shows exactly what i had described.
so now it's some more waiting game, I will update the thread in a few months when I have a final answer.
I started working on building the new car by the way,
got a 97 shell with full suspension, and brakes, and started buying parts for the 2.4 stroker build.
hks 2835r turbo, jim wolfe 275 cams. and brian crower stroker kit is next in line..
Luisgonz at fineline tunning will be doing the tubs and fab work for it.(cage/vmount/bars etc)
I am undecisive if I start a build thread or not since i am afraid ill get lazy half through it and stop posting lol.
the good news so far is I was able to totally salvage the wheels I took them to a wheel widening expert called Eric Vaughn in Monrovia, and he welded two porsche lips together to make the 7" lip to replace mine and it came out perfect, cant even tell it was in an accident before.

Gabe, glad to see you're still around and that you're starting again. GT2835 seems very small for a stroker build, it sucks to put thousands upon thousands into a motor build just to make 350hp.

LAPD is so lazy, not making a report. When I had my car broken into, the guy left prints and some blood. Being from TX, I called thinking they would send a cop. They told me I had to drive to the nearest station, and for the print and blood samples I would have to drive across town to one of the stations that actually does that. I know it's a big city, but its not that hard to send a cop to do a police report.

simple update since it's been so long,
I am filing the lawsuit this coming week, I believe she/they have 30days to respond, then after that I get a court date.
on a happier note, My new build begins we are going to try to do the first Viper powered S14 ever.
actually first srt10 in an S chassis period, I just paid for the engine today.
the crazyness begins next month.

Once things start adding up, I will be mad hyped for this.

I thought about this swap before, since the SRT Longblocks are cheaper than 2JZ's now. Aftermarket parts for the SRT is where it gets expensive FAST. Other than that the only drawback is you have to cut the firewall which is illegal in most sanctioned events.

I talked to both Han at intensepower and michael essa and they both think it can be done without cutting the firewall, instead we will probably cut the rad support out and do a tube front end, and relocate the radiator.
I bought it as a complete swap, engine, only 3k miles on it(I couldnt believe it) looks spanking new...tremec t56 tranny and wiring harness.
....are you sure the long blocks are srt10 gen 3 blocks?
the average price I have seen for these gen 3 motors without tranny and with 60/70k miles is over $10k and the new crate engine viper motor is like $26 k.
I got a sick deal on it though a super nice guy who builds hot rods, couldnt fit it in his ride, and was getting rid of it, he actually ended the ebay bidding early to sell it to me for cheaper than the bidding price since he heard my story and is exited about my build.
I got butterflies in my stomach man from exitement I hope it all works out.
here are some pics of the motor and the shell in its raw stage

09-07-2011, 10:02 PM
The swap was out of a 06 Dodge Ram. Every now and then Ill see a block go for around 4-5k although most are around the 10k range with the trans, and bare Gen 3 blocks going for about 1.5k to 2k, but then again I've been checking them out for a while.
I'm sure the engine can fit in the S chassis the problem I see without cutting the firewall is too much of the weight would have to be past the subframe on the nose of the car but then again it is an aluminum block so it might not be too bad. I'm really interested to see how this goes, if you need some help with the fabricating aspect of the build let me know I'm sure Forrest would design something crazy for you.

There was a yard in rural TN outside of knoxville (read outside of EPA regulations) with 2 complete SRT10 drivetrains for $4k each (entire vehicle actually). Wish I hadn't lost the number. Came across it on vacation.

Thanks everyone for the kind words, I have to say as I was driving home with it today I kept looking to the back of the truck to make sure the engine was really there hahahaha, I keep feeling like its just a dream..

Where did you get that for 3K????
I said It has only 3000 miles on it lol..I actually paid just under $8000 which was a steal. for its quality and p[erfect state,
Maybe you should go with 12k front springs then, hahaha!I'm looking forward to the build!
I was thinking the same thing today, as we unloaded it from the truck this thing feels like near 1000lbs lol, I know motor specs say the engine is 500lbs like the LSX because of alluminum block but with tranny attatched it feels way over 500lbs

Thanks man, that actually does make some sense, I will have to talk to Han about that and how it will affect handling, if it is better I dont mind cutting the firewall since I drift as a hobby. and am not at that competitive level yet.
