Just wondering if there is a gasket that commonly goes out causing an exhaust leak on SR's. I am getting a strange noise while driving, almost a fluttering, it doesnt sound like any exhuast leak I have ever heard before but when I pop the hood and stick my head in there I can clearly hear one. Also, if there is a common leak point, where can I get a replacement gasket? Thanks in advance.
The manafold to turbo gasket is known to leak, i just had mine fixed up.. Mine use to make a high pitch screaming noise when it came on boost.

Jr just blew the gasket between the eshaust manifold and the turbine. This is the second one. It starts out kind of like what you describe and gets worse. It sounds like a John Deere tractor right now. It is about a 6 hour job replacing the thing. Oh well...there goes another Saturday....

Z32 is the gasket. I actually did a write-up about the install a while back...it wasn't that special though. But you can search on my name for it. The image links are dead, but I have some if you want them.

raise the car, turn the car on, and then feel around at every connecting point along the length of hte exhaust and see if you can feel air leaking. if you feel air coming out, change the gasket or weld the edges if you don't care.

Yea, jus replaced my manifold to turbo gasket this weekend and what a pain it was! The old one was shattered to bits, can post pics if u want. Be sure to wear some gloves, since you're gonna be reaching in to some tight spaces. Atleast the crazy lag is finally gone and throttle is much more responsive.
