hey if u get an sr engine swap.. do i need a new exhaust  do to positioning?... i know i will need one to acommadate the turbo though... also, are the N-1, n-1 dual, 5zigen fireball, and hks hiper alright for the sr, or do they not let enough exhaust out?

Those are all excellent choices for turbo applications...in fact the N1's are not recommended for non-turbo apps...

Just find out the piping size on those. For n/a engines you would want no larger than 2.5" piping or you could lose too much low end. For turbo you want 3" to 3.5". For n02 I would assume you'd want the same piping as a turboed engine...but again, you'll lose low end when your not running it. I dono about the dual though.

All of them come w/ 3" or 3.5" piping.  The dual will give you more torque than the single N1, and the same amount of HP...which is why so many people go w/ it.

I went for the N1 for my sr swap, I also put the N1 single on my 10th anny, and my friend put the dual N1 on his 95 R2.... I got mine for $396

N1 turbo (single, of course...fuck the dual) on my SR.  The piping is disgustingly big - it's definately suitable for turbo.  If I were you, I'd go with either the N1 turbo (NON-dual) (one piece from the cat back) or the nur-spec (2 piece, but stainless steel).

The KA & SR both use the same exhaust however for the SR you need a 3" piping due to the turbo application. My N1 came with a 3" piping~perfect for turbo charged cars.

from what i have heard the n1 turbo is 3 " but thats not on the inside of the pipe.  the 3" is the diameter of the piping.  I might be wrong but that what i have heard.  the inside might be like 2.75" but its not 3"..  let me know if i'm wrong..

i like the blitz exhausts too. they do a good job and they look nice too. they're kind of pricey though. might as well just go for the n1 or an hks exhaust.

Yeah, you're very wrong <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>
The N1 is actually bigger than 3 inches - its 80mm, or about 3.2 or 3.3 inches (on the INSIDE). &nbsp;Trust me, I went around looking for flanges to fit it to get a test pipe made, so I had to measure it, and no one carried anything that big in that bolt pattern.

I have a friend in the car club who has a dual system on his SR20DE silvia, 2.5' off the manifold to a 2.5' Catalytic convertor and that bells out to the 3' twins out the back and it has to be the best sounding 4cyl N/A 4cylinder car I have heard in a long time.

Which it would want too because it cost a heap!
Dunno about performance effects, tuning and backpressure on the car as it hasnt been dyno'ed against a normal S13 (which is a surprisingly rare beast!) as we havent got anyone with a bog-stock SR20DE in an S13... actually we havent got anyone with a bog-stock SR20DET anymore either but Im sure one exists out there...

...somewhere!

Hmm, has anyone heard a Kakimoto R exhaust on a KA? &nbsp;Or SR for that matter? &nbsp;I've got a few clips that I got from www.redlyne.com (under construction) that made the usually raspy, buzzy sound of a Civic into a really smooth, low tone. &nbsp;Also a clip of a Prelude that made me go &quot;Wow, that's a Prelude?!&quot;

Just wondering if anyone has or has heard a Kakimoto exhaust on a 240. &nbsp;

your gonna get less low end loss with the n1 daul, if you plan to stay with the ka , then go with that over the n1 single...HOWEVER if your like everybody else on a 240 site, you will have and sr in the next 3 months...by the way it seems, everybody on freshalloy and zilvia should all be runnin sr's by late june...HA

if you plan to turbo or go with a sr, stick with the n1 single or if you got the cash go with the spec r...
i went with the n1 single bc
a. im gonna go sr soon,
b. daul is too loud and looks like ass, n1 single looks 20 times better..i think so
