This is my last week starting with a no start issue.

My tires ate through my inner fender harness. Long story short, after repairing that, I lost all electronics, the car continued to run, so I was hoping I could least make it home. About two hundred feet later some smoke came threw the vents so I killed the ignition and pulled over, my headlights flashed before the car died and I had to get it towed.

here are some pics of the connector that melted.

It turns out the short it was the red connector by the battery. For future searchers

The car started and ran las night then again this morning. So I put everything back together this morning and it started then died and it would crank, which is more than before.

but then it blew the fuse again and smoke came threw the vents. So I pulled the cd player out to find out that the previous owner wired the power source for the cd player through the ignition switch. Anyway it did this to the wiring harness behind the cd player.

So I Removed and repaired as much of the damaged wires as I found. No more cd player for me. Now it will crank, but it won't run. But no more smoke and no start again. When I crank it smells like I gas and I do have spark. Also, the headlights won't turn on or move, no interior lights, no gauges or dummy lights.

I pulled the code off the ecu 55. No malfunctions in the above circuit. I'm officially stumped. I have power to both of the ignition relay, accessory and fuel pump relay. But no power to anything but the starter it seems.

Okay. The major harness clip in the cabin wasn't attached all the way. So now it will start, and I have headlights and signals, but no gauges or dummy lights or seatbelts. Any ideas where to look?

Cliffnotes: after a short and a bunch of bs Now it will start and I have headlights and turn signals, but no gauges or dummy lights.

yr of car please...

if its an s13...i believe it could be that little white box behind the driver side kick panel, i forgot the specific name to it atm, but last time my buddies car had the same issue, he swapped it, and boom, things work...i would also suggest u pull the dash and trace wires...last thing u need is gremlins aka electrical arcs happening in random places you didnt see earlier...

Car is 92.

Short of pulling the dash I removed all the damaged section of wires all of which came to and from the cd player which was drawing to much and causing shorts.

Are there any wires that go to the stereo harness that are necessary for me to connect the circuit. My theory was a car can run without a cd player so I could safely chop them all. Seen as how they were destroyed anyway.

My gas gauge appears to be working, and so is my e-fan.

I've now discovered that the tail lights don't work, but the headlights do. The blower motor for the heater doesn't work, the wipers do work. Anyway, back to the schematic I go.
