I am getting 17X7.5 5Zigen Copse, here is a picture of htem if you don't know what they are. And I am going to go with a 215/45 size tire. Now first of all I want to know what offset would be the best, and also what you think thouse wheels would look like on my car? Pictures of my car in my profile, but my car is now lowered with
Pro-kit springs. So please tell me what you think, and what offset would be right. Thanks

offset is best?
i'd say a mid 20s.

will u get them in that offset?
NO.

haha..
find another wheels
7.5 is pretty pathetic for a 17" anyways

check out the black racing or the typhoons (yes, sadly im recommending typhoons)
both are readily available

Thanks for your comment, what do you think the lowest offset I could get with thouse wheels are? I like typhoons, but they are way to common. And im not looking for anything major thick, b/c I don't do much drag or street racing, I do autocross but not on a hardcore basis. I go to Road Atlanta and rent a race car if I want to do anyhting major. I love my SCCA racing licences.

honestly, pass on those POS wheels. no offset made is really 'suitable' for s13/s14s imho

How come nobody bashes people that have 17X8 wheels. Most of them have 225 on thier wheels, but nothing gets bad said about them. A 7.5 can hold 225 or better but every body thinks to think it is a shi_ty tire. WTF?

5zigen typhoons. (if ur 4 lug)

as for the rest flaming bunch, unless you have potent power to spin 17X9 no ****ing reason to get them. sure, if you car produces well over 300 wrhp, sure, but wtf for you want the 17X9 on an N/a.

I dont like 16's except R32 GTR's and P1/K1's. 17 and 18's shoudl be at least 9 inches wide imo. Man, 15x8 or 15x9 rocks too! Like some SSR Reverse Mesh. Daaaaang.

The problem with people's wheel choices is that they go for very inexpensive ugly looking wheels. Like Tenzo R and crap. I mean as much as I do not like knock off parts, I found some rims that are 2 18x9 +24 for $315 shipped to Cali. with 17x9 +24's in the front, you are looking at about $600 something shipped... And check out those sizes... adn these wheels are just plain 5 spoke, nothing stupid or dumb looking. Are they the coolest wheels? No. But I would rather get them than Volk Gramlight 57c in 17x7.5 +32!!! Do you know how nasty that will look? MOST the Volk cars you see in the Ads have wide fenders and 17/18x9 or 10 with the lowest offset available.

Then you like the wheel, see which sizes are inexpensive enough for the average dreamer S13 owner, look at your stock bodied, stock suspension car, and get 17x7 or 7.5 in some high offset, wait 3-4 months for Volk to ship them, and then get disappointed when they come becasue it was not what you were hoping. Seen this happen like 4 times in the last 2 months!!!!

Oh btw, 300+ ps to spin 9 inch wheels? Shiiiiit I guess you never heard of stretched tires. Its all about 215/45/17 on the 17x9 and 225/40/18 on the 18x9.

Yep.
18x9 or WIDER
hehehe.
Ideal would be: 17x9 +15, 18x9.5 +12, 215/40/17, 225/40/18. Oooh! We are going to see that tonight... Woo hoo... vol. 88 they spotlight Itai's car!!

17x7.5 is fine... put a 215 or 225/45-17 on it and be happy. I would. I'd prefer a 17x8, but we can't have everything, if that's the style you want.

Look for +30ish offset so that any suspension you might choose still fits. Lower offsets = flush, but also = increased scrub radius. That's not necessarily bad, but you should have an idea of what it means before you start experimenting.

Tire stretch and very low offsets are the sort of things like tire size stagger that I don't recommend to anyone unless they know WHY they want it. dousan and Dorifto know what they want out of a wheel/tire combo. You might not be so sure. That's fine. That's why you're asking.

There is no ideal for every application. But there are certain "split the difference" setups that I'll recommend to people that aren't tech nerds or track whores. 17x8 +30 with a 225/45 on all four corners is one of them. It's a great all-around setup. Tire stores won't scoff at mounting them. You won't find yourself with new wonky handling characteristics - just more grip. It'll clear any aftermarket suspension. It won't offer the response that a hardcore drifter wants, it won't offer the traction that a hardcore drag racer wants, it won't offer the lightness and ultimate grip that a road racer wants... but it'll be an immense improvement over stock in all those categories!

Mad horsepower isn't a necessity for wide wheels. You will feel the improvement in cornering grip with a wide tire, or the improvement in response with a stretched tire.

EDIT: My reply was for AKA, not Nitekids... Henry-is taht your programmed response no matter what anyone explains? You are like at the end of the Batman movie with the Joker and Michael Keaton as Batman. When the Joker falls off the church and he's got that little laughing box that wont shut up... Thank you AKA, you actually help instead of bash. I hate people like that, they need to grow up. We are here to ask and learn questions, not to say you shouldn't do that because I don't like it. Thanks.

Sigh.

Before recommending stretched tires, why don't you at least ASK him what his car is going to be used for.

I agree about the FN01R-C's though. Great wheel for the price. If you are blessed with the holy 5th lug.
