Hey guys I need some help identifying some things on my new RB25 motorset. After I found it had a NISMO Super Coppermix, I figure the previous owner changed some other stuff that I have yet to discover.

The engine has the igniter on the coilpack cover, so it is a SERIES 1 engine, but I dont believe the turbo to be a series 1. Im hoping you guys know more than me on this.

Here is the turbo (front and side shot)

Second question, for you japanese speaking/reading persons. What does this tag on the front of the engine say?

I appreciate any help,

the tag on the front of the motor is a reminder to replace the timing belt after 100,000 km . looks like yours was replaced at 152,341 km .

as for the turbo .. i believe all rb25 turbos are the same except for the RB25NEO turbo.
but i donno . i would like to know if there is a difference between series 1 or series 2 turbos

I have been reading around on Skyline Australia and it seems that some RB turbos had a metal front wheel, but all have a ceramic exhaust wheel.

And thanks for the help on that tag. Dang 150,000 kilometers, time for a rebuild I guess.

All JDM RB20/25 engines have the metal compressor wheel and ceremic exhaust wheel

Nope, Australia has like 3 different Series Turbos, so not all of the info is correct compared to JDM engines

I have a Series 1 RB25 and mine has the same turbo

Awesome, glad to know what I have and I appreciate the help. Is there any serious weak spots with the rb that I should tend to while its out of the car?

One more thing I found.

I believe it to be the factory solinoid for the boost gauge that is built into the r33 cluster, but I am not sure. It is attached to the power steering resovoir bracket.

I really do appreciate the info guys. Tenchuu, really dude?? I have been doing research about the rb swap for 5+ months. Its rare in people Ive talked to to get the stock boost controller and I wanted to verify some things about the engine. I apologize I cant read japanese and that I dont have the wealth of knowledge you seem to have. From my experience, the only way people new to subjects such as jdm engines learn anything is by reading and listening to experienced members. That is all I am trying to accomplish.

If you dont like it, please share your opinion elsewhere.

P.S. thanks for verifying the stock boost controller Sileighty 85

noting is wrong with questions.

asking questions for something that you can see plugged in on any stock skyline engine bay pic suggests a lack of searching ability.

I can name about 3 common problems that RB25DETs run into that this guy will be running into sooner or later, and more than likely not have the ability to address once he gets has been running it for a bit.

THAT is why i respectfully suggested that he needs to learn how to search better while answering his question at the same time.

NewYorkCoupe- if you can't read japenese, and need too, you are looking in all the wrong places. and you may say that you searched for 5 months, but i just double checked and found this exact question answered. still hasn't gone anywhere since last i saw it. also on all the install threads on here, you can identify it by the hoses that go into it.

if you gets butt hurt about someone answering your question and giving you some words of wisdom to go with it, then yeah, you are just going to be a moocher on here asking where every bolt goes and how everyone likes their godspeed products.

now if you had ask something intelligent, like where to find said information or a good place to find more information in the future i would have pointed you in the right direction. but since you aren't so inclined i wish you good luck on you soon to be long hours researching in what is obviously the wrong places.

enjoy them. you earned them.

and yes my innate hate of people who don't know anything is why i have made many writeups over the years, make cliffs of longer how too threads, create fact threads, update and keep them on here and one more site in case one is having issues.

and it is really the reason i even responded and confirmed and tried to help you out.

thats true, but you could approach it at a better angle. you came off sounding like a dick. i was just pointing out the fact that there are a lot of people in this world that use the internet, and some may not be as smart as you, or have the knowledge about cars that you have, so be nice about it and just try to help them out. there is no point in belittling someone because they ask a question, no matter how stupid it may sound or how easy it is to research. :)
