i just recently bought a 96 240sx with redtop sr and it has a garrett t61 turbo, does any one have this engine and turbo setup? or has any one had it before?

You dont need two freaking threads about it, and i doubt anyone is running that. Search would help too.

the turbo i think is gonna be a little laggy on that SR car.

i know Roidmonkey (sp?) has a 62mm on his Sr20 car. and makes just over 700whp on E85.

what else is done to your motor to make that turbo worth it to have on the car?

havent done much to it really and it has stock internals, and 3" exhaust, i have a safc but i havent tuned with it yet and i was thinkin of getting bigger injectors and maybe cams? i got the car the way it is and im debating on what to go with but i didnt kno wether or not somebody has tried that turbo before!

it's going to need fuel upgrades and cams to really use that turbo to it's real potential. i also think you should really look into some forged bottom end stuff, i'm not too up on the SR stuff but that should be a 500hp turbo pretty easy. so if you want to keep it you got along road ahead of you.

if you don't want to put that much time and money into it. i would consider selling the turbo and going with something smaller and something more street/low boost friendly.

Thanks for the advise it looks like i got some decisions to make hahaha but i will most likely go with a full motor build down the line and upgrade fuel delivery.

no problem. that's the reason for a forum. just post up any other questions. maybe someone else with more big turbo sr experience will chime in.

The bigger question is what kind of condition is the motor in if the dipshit before him was running a 62mm turbo on a STOCK SR?

Hmmmmm sketchy

tomie turbo mani, garrett gt28rs w 480cc injectors and a good tune and hav your block and head cheked and make sure the motor is nice and healthy and do your normal maintenance and dont drive it like a dick and ull hav years of good fun with that motor
by the way a friend of mine had that on a stock sr and at 7 pounds would spank stock sr's with bolt ons and 14 pounds on the t25 alll day
