so im replacing my piston rings and bearings and getting the block decked, ported, honed, etc etc and im wondering:

-where to find rings for less than 300.
-where to find bearings
-whats the best way to DEEP CLEAN all the parts
-where can i find the best factory service manual or rebuild write-ups
-is there anything else youd recommend me doing or replacing as i rebuild??

....and probably more. will add as i need help!!

thanks in advance guys, as this is my 1st rb motor lol.

actually maybe not decking the block. just a hone and cleaning. what do you think?

deck the block .. its worth it. make sure you get your head decked as well so both surfaces are completely flat.

there is no way that piston rings are that expensive. i got my machine shop to take measurements of my piston rings then they sent out the specs to a company called Total Seal and they sent out a full set of rings and i only paid about 200 bucks , plus im in canada.

as for bearings. use ACL bearings all around. thats your main bearings and connecting rod bearings.

here is a factory service manual : Index of /FSM/rb (http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/rb/)

Hot tank everything you want clean at the machine shop. Watch having heads and blocks cut. Most machine shops are usdm v8 based shops and the RA finish spec is crap. Check the block and head with a straight edge first. Go by the fsm from Nissan. It practicly goes step by step. An RA finish of 50 is required on the head if I remember corectly. Needs to look like a mirror.
