Friend found a S13 89 fastback for 1450$ for me with 190000 miles on it and a rebildt engein with about 60k on it i was told just wanted to know if i should get this car, i am planing to do alot of engein work on it and put in turbo (was thinking about SR20 but i want it to pass smog "DAMM SMOG LAWS!!!") just wounding if i would look for someing with less miles or go with this and just rework the engein

that price seems around where it should be.. go check it out see if the body is in good shape. you probably wont find too many other older S13 hatchs with less miles, and this one has a rebuilt engine. but go check it out first before you make any decisions.

I hope you grabbed it. 89 fastbacks are the sh!t IMHO.
Their are so many possibilities...
I just went out for a cruise in mine, not only did I get all the looks but I got tested a time or two and it felt good to see them in the rear view mirror.
Turboing an E not a DE is not the way to go yet..
I can wax a$$ with mine and you can too with the right stuff.
NOS KA24E can match a SR20DET pretty easy if you know how it goes.
BTW, Without NOS, I can eat a 5.0 Stang from 89 and that is pretty heavy duty. I also know how to do it...(skills)
Some asshole would pay 2200 for it so get it and start working it.
I got 121,500 on mine.

Picking to turbo the KA over getting an SR because of CA Smog laws is not a very good reason. You wont pass leagaly with either one because of the visual. You should do some research before you make a $3000 decision.

Find a turbo kit that has a CARB certificate, some manufacturers go the extra mile.
To get around it?
