Actually Steve I do not believe there is anything in almost all Religious texts about 2012. 2012 is the whole Mayan calender deal and like you said above and I agree with. It was just the end of one of the last calenders they made marking a major celestial event.

I.E. the lining up of our Solar System with the center of the Milky way Galaxy. Its just an event that happens line once every billion years. Nothing more. It should be quite interesting for Astronomers as it will give they a clear shot to look back in time at the beginnings of our own Galaxy.

Terrible weather and natural disasters happen every single year, just because we've had a few more over the last decade than the previous decade doesn't mean shit. You wanna know when there were BAD natural disasters? How about when Pangea divided? THAT was a natural disaster, a couple ~8.0 earthquakes here and there is nothing new. Yes, it sucks for the people who were in them, but for the Earth as a whole, it's a simple hiccup. What about the last ice age? THAT was a big deal! What has happened in the last five years is normal. Large variations in temperature and weather conditions have been going on for much longer than the last five years, they were also much more severe.

not cool, to see it as a good thing. But just these last two wweeks alone the temo has gone bananas. Which I might add is normal New Orleans weather. 65 degrees then 50 40 30 degrees. This is during december alone. one day it sunny then storms for days. it's crazy down here. hard to predict weather. never know what to wear. well most of the time anyway.
