I got a kinda lame question, but I wanna change my lame yellow fog lights to bright white. The H3 bulbs are a no brainer, but I'm trying to find out how to go about changing the yellow bulb cover over it. If anyone that had the same change done could help me out, it would be really appreciated.

I am pretty sure there are le's in canada for 95 on... I have seen them. The states is another story.

Yeah, I think canada had LE's for a while longer than the states.

ah - that would explain it... I always forget that Canada isn't part of the States, yet.

Personally, I like the yellow as it does a better job as a FOG light (now if you just want more lights on the front of the car or are looking for driving lights, that's another story - you should probably just buy a new set b/c these will never work right). I noticed the IS300 has knock off Zenki fogs

I absolutely love my yellow fog lights. They work better than 99% of the fog lights I've seen on other cars.

I wish I could help you w/ your question. I've never thought about changing the color of the lens. I think HippoSleek is right--trying to modify the stock ones may do more harm than good.

Thank you RVD for backing me up with the 95 LE.
Yes, there is such a thing as a LE for the 1995 model... I do believe it was only a Canada thing as Edmund's doesn't have any individual specs for the LE model (www.edmunds.com).

Back to the main point...
Yea, I agree about the 'practical' use of the fog lights and that it's pretty good for that... but for looks, it kinda sux.

I don't think anyone's quite understanding... it's not a big change or anything, i just wanna get rid of the yellow bulb covers in the front and change it to clear ones. I'm just thinking that i could, in fact, just get rid of the covers as they are. not TOO sure bout doing that, but that's why i'm asking. I REALLY don't see how this mod could do more harm? it's about the same harm experienced by changing any light bulb to a different type... if you mean hassle, now that's probably a different story

Well...hate to break it to you, but it's not just a yellow cover on the fog lights. It's actually a yellow glass lens that's part of the fog light...It has been done before (changing it out for a clear one), but it's a real pain in the ass. Here's an email I got from the only person that I've known to do this:

Step 1- remove OE lights, take a hammer and CAREFULLY break the glass lens

Step 2- remove all glass and sealant from the housing, it has to be clean and free from any residue

Step 3- remove 2 screws from the back of light, this holds in the reflector

Step 4- remove 2 screws behind reflector that secure the yellow lens

Step 5- acquire a set of blazer foglights from Pep Boys or similar store

Step 6- remove lens from these lights, they're cheap, so it's easy to do

Step 7- place back into existing OE light, lens is slightly larger, so work the screws in slowly, alternating pressure on each

Step 8- replace reflector, look at how F***ING sweet it looks

Step 9- this is the hard part, find a second set of OE lights

Step10 - this really sucks, use a rotary tool and CAREFULLY grind away the light housing around and behind the lens, removing the lens from it

Step11- after getting the lens off, hopefully intact, finish grinding away all remaining plastic from the lens

Step12- seal the lens onto your existing housing, turn them on

You can kinda see them here on his car:

ummmm hold on if u removed the entire fog light assem. i thin u can ope n it and take the lens out without breaking anything so don't go breaking shit just yet removed the entire housing first cuz im 99% i took out the lens when i got my fogs (the fogs weren't there when i got my car)

well actually, after some observation, you might want to look for some cadillac escalade fog lights (or yukon denali)

Ehhhh...no. The yellow lens is sealed on there...It will require breaking the seal. It was quite an effort from what Russ told me.
