So I have em on the way right.... Well for the A/F I was thinking of making a 3 hole DIN pod for the 2inch somthin.. and for the volt meter... eather cutting out the sig lighter... or getting a pod and mounting it on the passanger side. pointed at me.. I dont need to see them both all the time so I want them outa the way a bit.

I replaced my ash tray with my two gauges. Just use some plexi-glass or plastic and get creative.

I got rid of the cig lighter and made the hole bigger to hold by volts gauge. Of course now i don't have a light for smokes. :( haha o well.

From one Washingtonian to another:
BEFORE you open that A/F gauge, send it back. If you do a search on this site, you'll notice that NONE of the autometer A/F gauges work for crap. I was stupid and ignored ppl and did it anyways, and found out myself that it's the biggest waste of $40 ever.

It's too late for me, but you can still return yours. Get a Defi or something, that's what I'm doing.

I cannot stress enough how worthless the Autometer A/F gauge is.
(even autometer admits that even if it DID work, it's registers at WOT anyhow, what good is that?) :bash:

Here is what I did. It's a copy and paste from my post on NICO. So ignore the part about "as most of you know."

As many of you know, the overall scheme on my car thus far has been sleeper look. I have a front license plate, holes in my decklid, purple bubble paint, and **** white paint. The only things that give away the secret is the 115mm tip poking out the back, and my shiny "radiator" up front. So, the 2 craptastic indiglo gauges in my A pillar weren't working too well. So, when the [email protected] tYt3 indiglo burned out in my boost gauge, and my A/F meter continued telling me nothing (like it always had), I decided it was time for new gauges. Insert GReddy 52mm gauges, courtesy of Wayne @ phase2 here. Black faced boost, EGT and water temperature will now be staring back at me, but where?

I took my car to my bosses friends audio shop, and this is what we cooked up:

IMAGE1: To the naked eye, (read: police) this would just look like one of those DIN plates used to cover up the hole after a stereo install by a crappy installer:

This is the first revision, I don't really mind the little "handle" right now, but I would like to incorporate a hinge to make a door or something, but I don't know how I'm going to yet. Maybe I'll just keep it this way, we'll see what happens. And the guy said he would make them cheap for people that know me, so if you want one, let me know. I'll see what I can do.

So is that just foam you used to mount it in? What size are those guages? I'm gonna do something like that except it'll be one 52mm HKS boost guage with a greddy TT and hopefully a turbo controller soon :D

Hey; it's not foam, I believe it's ABS plastic or something like that. I don't remember the exact name. We used a hole saw to cut the holes for the gauges, then a table saw and some hand tools to cut it to size. The gauges are 52mm.

As for what you need, I believe HKS has a ready made kit for 1 gauge and a TT/EBC or whatever, as long as they are quarter DIN.

They discontinued it. :(
