I know this is probably a really crazy Idea or at least stupid one but I figured I would ask. Does anyone think its a good or even reasonable idea to use SAMFLEX DUCTING FOR intercooler piping just one of those crazy ideas that popped into my head

lol im willing to try it once but if it fails then hey I just learned something
but its mainly just to test the waters

but the second issued would be deciding where to put the BOV
since my whole goal is to cut down on cost but I know its pretty dumb
considering I can tig Aluminum and stainless steel

I know the more I really think about it does not seem like a good
alternative to running intercooler piping

1st you still need to by a pipe so you can weld the BOV on
2nd the issue with the air flow dont really know how the inside is constructed
3rd you would have to get another t-bolt clamp so that you can connect the ducting to the aluminum or SS pipe
4th Dont really know how the ducting would hold up when considering boost numbers

doesnt look like it would be cheaper. and how well do you think hose clamps and silicone couplings will work with that.

bad idea:2c:

do yourself a favor. cover the car in gasoline, then throw lit matches at it. Let us know if that was also a good idea.

Yeah I would say to just buy some ebay aluminum piping, it's cheap, and it works. Who knows what kinda problems you would encounter with the ducting.

lol I know it was a bad idea after 5min of real thinking
just sitting here looking at my 1jz and some samflex ducting
i used for my friends brakes to keep them cool dont know how well
they worked but he seems to think it helps... And I thought hey I wonder
if I could use it for intercooler piping so I shaped it to fit like intercooler piping
then realized whoa no BOV.... WHOA this look like its going to explode under my hood
at 20psi and destroy something and all my dreams of walking these 240's and GTR's in my town
