Just noticed today that my circuit sports plastic intake manifold gasket has a machining defect on the surface. If you run your finger along the gasket, you can feel the indent in one spot. There is a bump on the oppsite side. It is close to one of the holes. Should I use it or not? Will that imperfection cause it to leak when torqued to spec? Purchased this a while ago so I'm unsure if the company will take it back or not. Unable to post pictures because the gasket is still in it's original plastic. Which makes the spot too hard to see, and I don't want to open it in case there is chance of a return. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

If you have the reciept, go ahead and install the gasket. check for leaks. if no leaky, your all good. If it does leak, your more likely to get help from the manufacture than if you just try to return the part unopened at this point. Any reputable company should warranty against defects. If your still unsure, just contact the manufacture and tell them your situation. They should direct you what the best course of action will be, with regards to their return/warranty procedures. Good luck with everything!

I don't think removing it from the plastic is a deal breaker. I would check the surface with a shim pack and then contact CS with your results; besides they aren't expensive. I've installed the CS one on my car. You NEED to use this stuff or it WILL leak. One thing I've noticed is that some of the leaks will actually go away when the motor gets up to temperature, so pressure test your pressure system with the car warm.
