I am looking into engine managements since I got this car with a base mapped ECU. I put down 210hp/170tq at factory boost 7-8psi. Would you guys recommend AEM over Power FC? I am leaning toward Power FC because my shop says that one would probably suit my car better but I am clueless.

I also want to know what's the maximum output I can get out of the S15 turbo without getting out of its efficiency range and how much power my stock engine can handle? Thanks

Rich

I'm fairly new to all of this, so don't take what I am saying here to heart, lol.

I am fairly sure that the MAX numbers you can expect to put down with an S15 turbo are in the 300-330whp range. This should be well within what the stock motor can handle, as long as you have a good tune. I actually have a blacktop with an s15 turbo and a Power FC right now, but it will be a few weeks before the car runs, so I can't tell you how the setup is. From what I have heard though, it's a great street/track setup with a quick spool. I don't think you can really go wrong with the AEM or Power FC.

I run an S15 turbo on my Redtop. I put down 323WHP and 278TQ @ only 14 pounds of boost. My motor is fully built though. Im tuned on a Power FC.

Super fun, quick, fast spooling setup. I enjoy the shit out of it.

I remembered reading something about the max efficieny range at 17 psi??? ( correct me if i am wrong). I was debating on the s15 or the gt2871r and then found a gt2871r for $550 so i picked it up. The spool up was a bit slower than the s14 bb turbo i had before, but the high end was super sick!!! I put down 313 hp @ 285 tq (on a mustang dyno tho) at 1.25 bar (stock cams).

I choose power fc over aem due to price and tuning being less expensive then with an aem. Plus, i liked the commander instead of lugging my laptop (huge 17") with me. I would highly recommend NOT getting the optional boost controller tho. It took forever to correctly wire it up. Plus, even after i THOUGHT i got it wired up correctly via members here, i was never able to controll boost without either:
1. hitting boost cut when setting to low boost setting (even after changing all the values and such)
2. adjusting actuator arm.

D-jetro isbest. I always use the boost kit so simple to use and instAll. Don't know how you could have a problem with that at all.and it has a safety.

z32 maf, greddy intake plenum, 550cc deatchwerks, walbro 255, aeromotive fpr

^ That is more than sufficient to support an S15BB turbo.

I'm running Nistune and recommend it to anyone looking for a tune system. The D-jetro is great too. Once you have accessibility to the ECU its all about the tune anyways.

greddy/freddy manifold fucks up all low end tq, no wonder your car took forever to spool up before. the greddy manifold is for engines making more than 400hp. It's retarded that people upgrade this mostly for aesthetics when they have no idea what it's purpose is. If you're going to run a stock turbo, put a stock intake manifold back on and watch how much more response and low end tq you will have.
