I am putting a KA out of a 97 S14 into my 510 and im running into a snag.

It seems that for watever reason the o2 sensor harness from the main engine loom was cut, leaving me with 3 wires. I have the o2 sensor and it seems to have 2 white wires and one black wire. I would LIKE to run an o2 sensor but i cannot seem to find out what wires on the o2 sensor go to the 3 different colored wires on the engine harness...

I am assuming that black wire is o2 and the two white ones are heated shit, does polarity matter? Im pretty sure all i need is signal to the ecu since this is going into a 510...but im not sure

Any input is GREATLY appreciated :)

On the harness side, the brown wire is the heater power. You can just buy a one wire sensor and tie it the shielded lead which is the signal, it's a black insulated wire, silver shielding, white wire inside.

What confuses me is that I can't seem to find a shielded wire anywhere on the main harness..all I found was those three snipped wires from the PO...are u saying the shielding is farther down in the loom? I have access to a single wire o2 and the harness but I'm still unsure where the shielded wire is on my main harness ughh

So again, i dont want to find look for a one wire o2, i have a 3 wire o2 sensor waiting. I just need to find out what wires on the o2 sensor i should hook up to the cut wires on my harness...

Anyone?

You sure you have a 97? They have 4-wire O2s. 96s use the skinny 3 wire O2s. I have a skinny 3 wire for sale if you are interested. $20 shipped.

I have a 97... I can check what color wires go where if you'd like... but they might be different since you say you have only 3 wires.

That's the rear O2 sensor, he's not talking about the rear.

OP- the shielded cable isn't very far back from the plug, the white wire is only a few inches long before the shield covers it.

Im a tard, the white shielded wire was infront of me the whole time! :dead:

But regardless all i do is hook up that to the black wire on the o2 sensor. and then run the other two (brown and green) to the two white wires on the o2 sensor. Like i mentioned before, it should be safe so say that polarity does NOT matter when hooking up the two....right?
