moving to san diego

i live in seattle, wa and i am moving down to san diego at the start of july when i get my 240 back. i am wondering what tracks are down their. i am also wondering the spots to meet up on friday and saturday night for all the 240 enthusiasts or car lovers in general. i wanna get into the 240 scene down their and i am just wondering how you guys kick it. nissans are blowing up in the northwest so i hope it is just as crazy doen south. i am moving to clairmont if that matters at all.

Clairemont is like the Asian part of town in SD from what I know. Like 15min south of UCSD.

And down there, there 240SX scene is also growing I believe.

SoCal is import enthusiast central. Everyone modifies everything. There is quite a large 240 community down here as well. Hope to see you at an upcoming meet!

even up here in tiny *** Santa Cruz the import scene is taking off..we've even got a Drift Day event happening in a week in San Francisco..

Clairemont is the asian town???

Seriously.. I never new that.. I have been here( San Diego, really close to national city) for the longest time. I never noticed that clairemont was the asian town.. WOuld anyone know of other japanese shop's then university ave, and balboa off the 805 FWY? I heard that there are shops down Mira Mesa.. but not sure if it is that street. I went and looked.. but no dice.

P.s The only video store I have gone to is video Eye and also a smaller one on the same street, except you make a left off balboa instead of a right towards eye video.

yes clairmont is asian town....go on convoy and check out boba stations also all the noodle houses, Jasmine is the best :D ...

well since your moving to clairmont u should come to my 240sx meet, it will probably be a few blocks from your house, where in clairmont will you be? I know that place.. been there not to the resturants. Just been to that area.
I was hoeping to find other places like video stores or something like that. past convoy and Engineer RD there is nothing. I want to know more places. Specifically Video stores.
LIke I said, I have been to both videos stores on convoy. One is Video EYE, and the other is on the opposite side of balboa Ave then Video EYE. Mitsuwa's on Kearny mesa rd has a book store, but it only sells the DVD's and Videos.

Saul240, thanks for the offer, but I dont think i'll be able to make it (unless someone is having a crazy parts sale). I reside in Los Angeles County. I'm in La Jolla during the year for school. I was in Clairmont area last friday however, but that was to take care of some pressing matter. I made the 250-mile round trip in about a half tank!

Make sure you guys take plenty of pics when you meet up so the people who couldnt go could see. :D

Mira Mesa is more Filipino than Asian (they're not the same thign right? haha).


For tracks, there are three drag strips in San Diego (I think): 1/8th mile tracks at Qualcomm Stadium and Barona Casino, and an quarter mile track in Carlsbad. SCCA does autocross events at Qualcomm stadium as well.

So you are down here in San Deigo with that rb hatch? That is cool. I want to do the same mod, but have to many Sr's already. Hopefully my bro will want an RB in his s14. Well hope to see you around in S.D. heh
