So, a local guy is parting out a 97 240sx SE. Problem is, he doesn't know if it has an open diff or the VLSD. From my knowledge, if the 18th digit in the model # is A,C or F it's got VLSD....anything else & it's an open diff. Please verify, somebody. Thanks in advance.

Does it have ABS? That's all you need to ask him.

i believe the VLSD's have an orange sticker on the differential indicating it's not an open diff... i think lol... should be on the rear of the pumpkin

Correct. It could also be a "-" signifying a single tire fryer as well
The orange sticker is above the drain plug on the Pumpkin. Sometimes it falls off.

just jack the car up and if one wheel spins and the other don't then not vlsd:squint:
