Ok, I bought this used greddy oil filter relocation kit from someone here on zilvia and im trying to dissasemble the lines where the blue cap and the actual fitting that needs to bolt to the oil block.

I loosen up the clamp that tightens the stainless line but the end wont come off and Im having one hella of time trying to get this thing off , it wouldnt even move or show any kind of progress.

Am I doing something wrong here?

Not the actual pix but to give an idea

Those look like barbed fittings, which means you'll probably have to cut them off and either hook them up a little closer together or use new lines. I've run into this countless times with push-on hose and fittings ~ hard to push on, impossible to pull off lol.

So what your saying is the blue cap pushes in only and not reverse and I;ll have to cut the line completely off and push back the blue cap?

:duh:

you can get them off, i've done it, but it was a SUPER fucking pain in the ass. i hurt my hands quite a bit trying to do it and kinda damaged the blue hose clamp sheath thingies.

what i did was loosen the hose clamp until i could tell that it wasnt putting pressure on the line anymore. then i took various sizes of flathead screwdrivers (starting with a small one and getting bigger as i went) and wedged them between the greddy oil block adapter and the blue fitting. i used the screwdrivers to pry and separate the line from the block. the damage i was talking about came from this. those blue things are aluminum and they scratch very easily. i had to do it while the kit was in the car so it was quite a pain in the ass, but eventually i separated the lines and was able to get the kit off of the car. the lines never got cut or damaged during this process.

+1 But after using flathead screwdrivers, I switched to needlenose pliers in the same way for more leverage.

If i was you from personal experience do not take them apart, i bought a used Grex kit that was apart, i put it together with as much force as possible checked it was tight and wouldnt come off.. With oil pressure it came off loosing all oil and now i need a new engine...

you pretty much have to take the lines off to put the kit on correctly. sounds to me like you or the person you bought it from messed something up. i reused my kit and never had any problems.

Here are the results.

Make the story short putting it in without dissasemble the line it is almost impossible with everything in the way.

Using a flat scew driver I pryed where the blue fitting and the adaptor was at and used a bigger flat head as it started to open up woohooo but the blue fitting looked like crap after it was completed oh well no should see it since it sits down low and hidden.

I only pryed apart the main oil adaptor and then bolt the plate to the block and tighten it down and installed back the line that I just took apart. Went under the car and tighten down the clamp.

Until I start the engine to check for any leaks, glad it worked out for me.

Also I noticed that my stewart warner oil pres. and oil temp sensor doesnt fit into my greddy oil billet at the top where the oil filter sits.

One of them the thread was too big and the other the hole was to small?

WTF?

i put my gauges on the block that screws on to the engine. it sounds like you are using an american gauge which is probably NPT threaded and the Greddy relocation kit is BSPT threaded. My Japanese gauges threaded in with absolutely no problems. You may need to get an adapter if you want to use your current setup.

Cut those fake AN caps off and you will be good to go, you can buy new ones from autozone for 5 dollars.

noticed there is a leak on the returning line to the oil filter, that line is missing the blue cap which I dont think it has anything to do with the leak since all it just sits over the braided lines.

TOok it off and replaced the clamp with a new one, the leak slowed down but there was still oil dripping out through the end of the line.

Anyway I did some search and found out that the clamps cant tighten the braided lines too well or atleast tight enough for any leaks.

I was thinking about going to auto zone and get some high pressure hose instead, you guys think this would work?

my hose clamps never had any problems keeping the hose tight enough to prevent leaks.

are you sure its not leaking from the o-rings where the barbed fittings meet the oil blocks?

well I did noticed that once it was tighten i was still able to turn the fitting around while the other end was already tighten inside the flex hose, Im not sure if this is normal or not.

I made sure the o-ring was seated properly before installing the fitting but about any damage to the o - ring im not sure, it looks fine.

if i am ready this correctly then no, it's not normal. once everything is secured in place, nothing should spin or move around easily.

I thought it would be fine since I tighten the clamp with my socket rachet as hard as it would go.

Unless there is some special clamps that greddy kit came in with because the clamp that came with the hose looks different from the one i replaced it with. I used the menards clamps as the replacement.

Well im going to take it apart the 2nd time and double check for any damage.

Also the braided hose from autozone, are they are same ones like the greddy hose because I was thinking about trying out one of those braided hose to see if it will fix the problem.

i cant vouch for the Autozone hose but i had Russell's -10AN braided lines running from the blocks to my oil cooler and i had no issues whatsoever; they fit perfectly just like the hoses that came with the kit.

took the line off and discover that the inner rubber had a small nick, will replace it with the new line.

I have a feeling it will sove my leaks.

Thanks E_Double
