Real vs knockoff HKS SSQV

Is this a real hks ssqv or knockoff?
I was trying to look it up, lots of people said the older ones dont have the HKS etched onto it

I went through this ordeal too with my first ssqv that WAS fake. It looked just like this one. The pictures I found online of real ones had a squared off HKS logo in gold on top of it (the top as in, the bottom being the flange). But it wasn't a stamp, and could easily be worn off.

actually the letters on the inside dont matter, its been reported many different fake ones with the same bold/narrow type letters and different combinations of phrases.
if there ever was a yellow sticker on it, its probably genuine. of course sticker is easy to copy, but i have one. the adjustment screw on the back suggests that either its a VERY OLD HKS unit, or its fake. many fakes come with the screw and still they cannot be adjusted properly, the inner materials is what matters..

The screw in the back is the dead give away. The HKS BOV's don't have an adjustable Valve

early HKS units did have the adjustment screw. people were raising too much questions and panic bout the adjustment bolt, so the took it off and left it like it is, its working perfectly.

Knockoffs are horrible...i had one on my 06 WRX and on the dyno at Speedelement getting tuned the internals broke and i got lucky and found someone with a new HKS SSQV and it worked perfect...

Mine leaked. I just cranked the adjustment screw on the back until i had turbo flutter and then backed off just a bit. Problem solved.
