Several of my friends and I haven't had much luck with clutches in our SR cars. I am currently putting together another project and do not want to have any issues like before. Motor is an SR bored out with forged internals yada yada. I have had an SC61 setup off of another car of mine for a while. What clutch will take 400 HP daily and maybe a bit more because I am sure i'll crave more boost.
Bolis down too...
400HP what clutch please :bash:.

yes, clutches are rated by torque.
most 6 pucks can hold to about 500 ft/ lbs. which is ample bc at that rate your ho would prolly be in the high 600s.

That is more or less what I was thinking. Just didn't want to go overboard and get something that would suck to drive everyday. Thanks for the advice I suppose that is what I will be after.

Why that would be ideal and I did just finish drooling... Quite a few dollars out of my price range.

act 6 puck heavy duty sprung
I am running this ^ with an ACT Prolite 10.5 lb flywheel right now with a 370 hp/300 ft-lb SR setup right now and it feels beautiful.
however, before, I had a heavy duty PP, OEM flywheel, and Street disk, and that thing burnt out/slipped at the drag strip when I launched it....

I like the Exedy extreme single plate the best. its costly but works well.
The ACT extreme is good unit but you will need to make a longer plunger for your slave cylinder to properly actuate it.

I'm running a Spec 6 puck and make 394rwhp... Holds great. The multiplates are great and sure do get the job done but the SR tranny will be short lived. Build it so that the clutch isn't too over kill.

I am aware of this too. I wish I had the coin to drop a z32 trans in it.
I suppose the ACT 6 puck will do the trick unless I come across a good deal on a Spec. Thanks for the help.
