View Full Version : Exhaust recommendations
I have a 95 s14 with a KA24de header to straight pipe to apexi N1 canister and it is loud as shnit. i bought the car with this set up and my question is what (muffler/C. converter) should i weld in between the header and muffler for a better, quieter sound and less back fire?

i LOVE this exhaust! Brm | Car(s) Select Your Car (http://www.brmusa.com/S14.htm)
its in expensive, good quality, & much quieter than most.
it comes with a resonator & instead of the " 4" round tip"
there is also an option to have this muffler instead

it looks stock, is quieter, & @ the same time free flowing.
do it youll love it!!!

I would recommend that you install a resonator. It reduces volume greatly and also helps to refine the sound of your exhaust(eliminate rasp etc.); all while not restricting flow by amount worth mentioning. Summit sells them and the link below will take you to their universal resonators, I would recommend staying with major brands like Flowmaster for qualities sake. Of course you buy them from other places but this will at least show you what you are looking for.
You need to know the diameter of your exhaust piping(cat-back section) and also the length of the longest straight section in terms of what sizes you can use. The longer the resonator the deeper the tone and the quieter. I have also heard that the position in the system changes the affects too, you'll have to search for that though.
