I was wondering what some of you guys use in order to raise your moonroofs higher?

Lol. I was just wondering what some of you guys added to the tail of the moonroof latch where the 2 holes are to raise it higher. I want to do it in order to make it sit higher while its open..
Meh I guess I can't explain it very well. I'll just try to figure out my own way.

No no i know what a hood spacer is ._.; Moon roof. I just want to know what some people add to make it sit higher while its open. You know like a nut or something to space it higher?

The only thing people do here is to add washers so the whistling noise is diminished.
Moonroof spacer?
Take it off if you want it to flow more

I want to raise it mainly for appearance, but since I can't seem to find a picture of what I'm talking about I'll just have to fold my hands.

Yeah that's a good example. Looks like the screws were replaced with longer ones and were fitted with nuts.

lol, i love the hatch set up. looks awesome. got a good idea. and for the latch, you can either use couple of washers which makes it more tight when you lock it , and it allows it to flex foward more. or just get a latch off another car and glue it to your moonroof and retap to your roof. then you get a clean nice set up.

my old car. it had an aftermarket sunroof.
i don't remember the name of the company, but it sucked ass and leaked/whistled way more than the garbage oem ones.
the only upside, like you stated, was that it raises up higher (i thought it looked cool) it actually had 2 positions, first was close to oem sunroof height, second was about 1.5-2" higher.

O/T to the original question, but where do you put the washers for this?
Sorry, I tried to figure it out, but my mechanical logic only goes so far.

tedward, unbolt the latch from the car side, not the glass side. put a washer or 2 between the latch and the car, then bolt it back up. this moves the latch mounting point towards the ground by 1-2cm and will therefore pull the glass down 1-2cm. usually this is enough to quiet down the whistling.

Ahh I see I didn't even know aftermarket ones existed. I'm just looking for a mild raise not as high as your old set up, but thanks for the help.
As for the spacer suggestion, I don't really find it necessary. The bottom of the latch ( the one that attaches to the car near the dome light) can be adjusted to go forward or backwards because the brackets inside allow the screws to slide back and forth.
And a tip if any of your latches break. The old nissan stanzas have the exact same latch, so just find one at the junkyard :D

Hell yeah they exist, lots of companies install them into cars that never had a sunroof/moonroof. Ive come across a few cars that had them installed. Not the best thing to do but I guess it does the job.
