my oil pressure light is flickering/staying on while i drive it.

i have a custom oil relocation kit that i installed and was wondering if the extended lines would drop the PSI low enough for the light to come on...

i also have a good oil leak...but i know that the light is pressure not level.

anyways i can tell i have good pressure (good enough) because the car is rattling away like it would be if it had no oil pressure.

should i replace the sender? buy a gauge? and/or disconnect the sender?

To begin, quit driving it. It's clear you don't have enough oil pressure and the rattling you're hearing is the rod bearings shredding away.

Buy a real gauge, either one to install in the car or at least a test type gauge you can temporarily install and verify the oil pressure. A relocation kit should not have effected the oil pressure at all unless the pump was on it's way out already.

i meant the car is not rattling. as in it has lots of pressure.

i would buy a oil pressure gauge and hook it up and make sure you have oil pressure before you do any more driving

Rattling = something got damaged

So you'd rather wait till you hear something break before you convince yourself that its a shitty oil pressure? Get a gauge to make sure before you have to buy yourself another engine.

Besides the damn oil light is utterly useless. If it is an oil pressure issue, when it turns on, you're already eating rod bearings.
