zilvia member ruf should be able to (email or pm him)
jspec has gotten them in the past

retail IN JAPAN is around 1700 USD iirc...maye bit less..kei-office.co.jp i THINK is the site, but not 100% sure.

VERY VERY VERY popular w/ drifters, professional ones too (like koguchi, kazama and kumakubo, izumida (and so on and so forth) on their personal cars

if my other set dont get here like i plan, i'll be getting Xrs as well
large shock piston and 9/7 kg spring rates. i was told they ride SOOO SMOOOOOTH on USA streets!

So i took apart my tein HE's to clean them and when I was looking at them I realized that they only have about 55mm of TOTAL front suspension travel. Not sure if this is normal but to me that seems like not a lot of shock travel. No wonder potholes feel so bad on them. They are probably hitting the bump stops hard.

looking back, i realize now that i could have gotten much more for the money i spent. i have tein HA's, and those plus the pillow mounts i could have gotten flt-a2's, just for the shock height adj makes them worth it nevermind the extra 2kg/mm. but even with ha's i feel bad for the car on the crappy roads in this state.
i think my fronts have even less than 55mm, but i wanted to be able to lower the car at least somewhat, thats the drawback of the ha's though

Tein is ok for the price and for starting out, but honestly they have Bad valving.
JIC is a bit better than Tein and the Inverted Damper is a stronger design.

For the Hardcore.... Kei Office, HKS spec-D, Kazama KZ-D, Silk Road, etc...

rating the qualities of different manufacture's against each other is practically pointless, they are all very similar and almost the same in make, feel, and can be adjusted acordingly, remember that just because you rode in one persons car with jic's and another with tein's dosent mean that the cars were adjusted and aligned corectly whatsoever.

The thing you have to look at is service. We at RPSport enjoy use of tein's the most because they have the best customer service and turnaround time on their rebuilds, far surpasing jic/tanabe.

You're relationship with the manufacture is what i would base my purchase off of. The in's and out's can be figured by you a good representative of the company.

Tein is located off the 605 in downey

and Jic/Tanabe(zeil) is located in torrance off the 405.

Wow, old thread....

Anyway, I'd personally go with the TEINs. TEIN has a much bigger US presence, and therefore, service and support will be better and easier.

support, yeah tein is better

id say the flt-a2s are definitely a superior coilover compared to he's

What? not sure what you mean there but I have JIC FLT A2 and they are pretty good. I blew a strut out and they told me to come down and they replaced it for me. Before I got my FLT A2's I had a set of FLT A1 from japan( got em from Aerodyne ( fuck them anyway ) back in 1999. Those A1's are still on a car working well. I have had a great experience with the JIC Product.
I also have all of the hard goods made by JIC and I have installed many sets of Tein T -rods and they look and feel weak compared to JIC or even Battle Version stuff.

As far as customer service here in the states, I think Tein tops JIC.

As far as quality and performance of the product, jic's are a step up from the teins IMO. flta2s are what i rock
