Whats up zilvia, i have an s14 sr and it developed a knock. I was driving one day and i was going maybe 15 miles per hour in a parking lot and out of nowhere it started knocking. The knocking was faster with revs, so i figured i spun a bearing. Long story short i took it apart but the pistons rods were tigh on and the crank bearings looked to be in ok condition, no real scoring. I did notice some marks on top of the pistons that look like the valves might've been hitting them or something but my valves dont seem to be bent. Since the bearings didnt looks too bad (there was a bit of copper layer visible on one of them, but it was smooth, didnt looked like it would cause a sudden distinct knock, i might be wrong though). So my question is, if my vvt got fucked up, would it cause the timing to go that much off as to cause the valve tap? I bought some new rods/pistons, but am contemplating if i should just put it back together with stock parts and new bearings to see if it was in fact the bearings (it's my first engine rebuild ever, so i dont want to fuck shit up with the expensive parts in it). Any info will be greatly appreciated, i searched
