Don't tell me when to shut up:hammer:

Hmm well quality is obviously not going to be like Bride seats or anything, but racing seat is a racing seat. I don't see how they can mess up, unless they break like S13 seats  .

Be a guinea pig and tell us how they are. If they suck sell em on ebay

Well this kid is poor and has lot more to worry about than my seats, either way I like my seats they are still holding strong. Either way you brought it up.

I'll be the bitch here, been looking for non-branded srd wannabes. $119 is a steal, in a couple weeks I might have a review on them.

hmm...these are only 19 bucks more than people 'round these parts want for an s14 seat. with a friend who knows how to weld, it may be possible to get these in for only a little more.

let us know how they are dude ;)

wow, that site is chock full of cheap stuff :P

I'd recommend not browsing around it too much or this is gonna turn into a flames thread. Let us know how those seats turn out. Reclining, memory foam. . . sounds almost too good to be true ;P

I would be worried when they don't even list dimensions for the seats.

You get what you pay for.

I would be suspect of the SAFETY of these seats, even... I'd be afraid of the frame falling apart with any sort of regular use. Never mind the guaranteed awful quality of the cloth and foam.

I agree 100%.. Buying an aftermarket seat should be like buying a Helmet. They are safety items FIRST. Tools of the trade, second.

A proper seat should fit properly, and be built with safety in mind.

I prefer seats with an FIA approval.

Naw man, it's all about the LOOKS. You should buy lighting cuz it's blue, and seats/seatbelts/seatbelt pads to match your painted vinyl interior! Helmet? Who needs a helmet? Then no one can see me when I'm flossin', yo...

I understand people associate money with safety. But don't you think if these seats weren't safe they wouldn't be selling them???

I mean, I bet hundreds of people have bought the seats already, and if you haven't seen some kind of report on 50/50 or dateline about "KILLER SEATS" or "Is your racing seat a one way ticket to hell." Then I would assume they are pretty safe. Now quality of the seats is a different thing

Personally, I think i'm going to get 1 of these seats and if I like them order one for the passenger. If not sell it to one of my honda friends. They buy anything if i tell them its JDM

a good seat is VERY Important

few reason i have personally found out from my own expirience:

mounting points/location
some sit high or too low

support: a good seat that i like has side support around side of body, shoulders, sides of legs
back support and a 5 poitn harness possibility is great as well

fabric should be good, thck w/ good stitching. poor stitching will lead to wearing it out as you get in and out and tear

cushioning should be firm but not rock hard, soft but not too plush.
adjustability is a plusas well (going non bucket)

FIA is VERY important espeically in conditions where the seat is pushed to its limited (crashing)

right now, im borrowing a bride brix. its not FIA approved, yes, but it is a VERY well made seat. its got perfection in almost everyway but no use (hole) for a 5 point harness (sigh),but other thenthat, the seat is amazing.

SRD is nice but not good on bolstering imho. too small and not enough support (legs and upper body)

best bet is to try as many seats as you can!!!

and dont buy junk seats like that! they aer for SHOW, not for safety

and dont pull that "if its not safe why would tehy sell it!?" cigarette companies sell products that arent safe/healthy. APC sells clear taillights. getting sued for more things they sell. just because someone sells it doesnt make it right.

BTW - These are not racing seats. These are aftermarket reclinable seats with lots of side bolstering.

the Brix aren't racing seats either for that matter. Racing seats have fixed backs, and sub-belt holes.

Yep, the brix is quite an odd seat. Aaron is borrowing mine until my car gets here from hawaii. The seat holds better than many full buckets. It is a seat that I can honestly say is built solely for drifters who drive their car on the street everyday. That is the only reason for a brix. No joke.

As for all seats being equal? hardly. JIC sold $600 brix copies. $600. And they fell apart and the materials sucked. NO ****ING WAY THAT a brix even costs less than $120 to make. NO way. Or an SRD for that matter, or any good seat. So if those seats cost more to make than these knock offs cost RETAIL, how good are they? lets be practical. Do you buy a $500 SR20 when you know no ones sells them for less than $2000 or so? (excluding Japan). Obviously you know its not going to be complete, or the piston rings are blown or the valves dont seal, etc...

eh what the hell, they're only $119, i'll let yall know the finer details when it comes in, i'll post some pics too.

p.s. like someone else said earlier, if it sucks, i'll sell it on ebay:D

nevermind, i figured out why the seats are so cheap(no comments on quality), shipping is friggin $120!!! thats more than my 9foot and much heavier N1 cost to ship. so i will not be getting one of these

i think it is you. if it was perceived as that then it would have either been moved to the for sale thread or deleted because the mods thought otherwise. i just wanted to know if anyone has tried these before so i would know whether they suck or not. if they work out, i may buy a pair and pop them in a honda accord i am selling and ad an extra grand to the price with the harnesses and a "THIS CAR IS FOR TRACK USE ONLY" on the invoice.

sorry kid, no hard feelings. i guess i should have added j/k to the end of the comment.

I can get 2 recaro type seats from a friend for a 100 each. Full steel frame. The fabric blows but the frame is all that matters. Don't ask me if u can get them cuz you can't. :p

Here is my take. I want C6 Vette seats and redo them with new leather/cloth, some suregrip foam for the bolsters, and the 5 point. In a really totalled vette (where the leather is ruined) you can land a set for about 330 with the belts and cinch. At least that is what my junk yard buddy told me. I would use the cinch belts for the main and ad the over the shoulders for track use...may not be approved..but when you have slung a vette around the track at what seems like airplane g forces...drifting really hard, those seats hold you perfectly.

See, I also want to take a 1000 mile cruise in 13 hours without being worn out. Those seats are comfortable and from what I have learned, I can make them fit right into the cockpit. They do touch the console and it is tight..but once I got it "set" I am in!

Will I do it? Probably in a year. I probably should buy a datsun 510 for drifting and just work on this car until it is the bomb...money deciding all fates..

Believe me, I know their are not that many 510's left..but it is a serious track car and with the right mods, can drift forever...you just have bulletproof brakes that will hold the front of the car while burning the back and a e brake that would be easy to manipulate.

I still think hooking a separate had brake for the front wheels would make for an ideal drift machine IMHO.

Still don't have my damned clutch in..what tools to undo the top bolts??? Do I have to pull the engine to get at them??? Huu???

I guess I should post in tech...but really..I am doing a blow by bvlow replacement clutch tutoral for dumasses and those top bolts are intimidating..I cannot get on them...who uses what to get them out? ??
