Wheel whores where are you?

Basically lol... i thought this fender was 40mm but now i test fitted it, it seems to fit ok anyhow on 18x12.5j et0 275/35/18

Bearing in mind on the pic the standard arch is sat on the tyre so when its cut obviasly it'll be flush

Anyway now the back is pretty much sorted that just leaves the front... now i have 20mm front fenders... and im running a 18x9.5 et0 (but need a 10mm spacer to clear the caliper) so 18x9.5 et - 10 tyre size is 225/35/18 but heard a 40 would be better for front (i gather this is for the extra weight)

Anyway this is where im at, at the minute the front tyre is sticking out by 20mm from the arch!!

in these pics i had around a 8mm spacer on but it does clip the caliper so needs to be around 10mm also the tyre size is a 245 in the pics 225 now... but still it sticks out 15/20mm

Right now i think i have like 1 degree of camber or something on the front wheels im unsure but you can see it very slight sometimes.. probs not even that... anyway my question is how much camber will i need?

I don't want to run stupid camber as i don't have uprated knuckles yet and want the grip for drifting so would it be a better option for me to just buy 30mm front fenders??

-1 degree of camber for your front wheels is terrible for grip in general. When the wheels turn they angle over so you want more negative camber so that when that happens you have the most contact patch. Try at least -2.5 to -3. That's really not that much. You want low camber in the REAR for grip. -1 for the rear is perfect.

im not 100% sure it has 1 degree camber maybe its just stock so having -3 on the front won't mess up the handling etc? itll make the front grip more?

You want 225/40/18 because it is a 25inch diameter tire. 225/35/18 is about 24inches, too small.
24.5-25.5inch fits about right. Stretching the tire also reduces the diameter slightly.

with a 225/40/18 and some camber it will fit fine with the 20mm overs.
A 225/275 stagger seems like a lot of rear grip, but also depends on tire compound/power/driving style.

plus you are offroad... lower it more.

ok i get you but wouldnt a 225/40 therefore create more diameter.. aka more to hit aka needing more camber?

Tha'ts b/c he's running 3" larger rear than the fronts lol.

9.5-10 on 20mm is eazzzy peaazzy. and -1 degrees is nothing for the front. i'd do atleast -2~3 degrees and your golden. btw show us some pics of your wheels! :)

ye but i need 15/20mm lol is that still easy peasy? lol and the works could do with a ferb but there ok atm

im no pro at this but -2 or -3 should be about perfect keep in mind the top of the wheel/tire is going to come in when your suspension moves giving you a little more clearance as well so you dont have to get them in that much. i run a 225/35 r 18 on 18x9.5 +15 with a 10mm spacer on factory fenders and it fits about the same as yours. with 2 degrees it would be flush. Just my thoughts.

But its not clearance from the suspension i need its clearance from the brake caliper which is why i need the 10mm, so for every degree on a 18 inch wheel how much arch clearance does that give you? around 5-7mm?

i had 18x9.5-4 w/225/40 and prolly -3 camber.
i just maxed the top plates out almost
on stock fenders.
i dont see why with 10mm spacers you can't clear your fenders.

yea put the car on the ground.
it should camber in and fit.
when my wheel was mounted is was poking out be like 5mm or so.
put ut on the ground and it tucked.

same with the rear.
but rear rubbed a little bit so i did a pull on top of the roll i had already.

i only had to hammer the fender lips up front and camber to fit.
