I won this auction on
e-bay item #2417336831 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=24173368
31&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOAB:US:6), an OE Tuning
3k CF hood for the S13 Silvia. OE Tunings website was very professional
looking and made me think this hood was going to very high quality, so I
was happy I won it for the price I did win it at.
I bought this hood because of obvious reasions:

*cough* DEER ARE GAY *cough*
So, around a week later, this
box (http://james.exiva.net/cf/box.jpg) showed up. inside
the box was the following:

Notice the pre-applied vynil OE tuning sticker, which I found quite
refreshing. It's actually pretty small
and very hard to notice, so I left it on for now. It will help OE Tuning
advertize as well.
As with any CF hood, it wasnt perfect. My personal pet peves were two small
scratches in the clear coat that came with the hood, but I guess I can buff
them out. Also, This hood's CF isn't "wrapped" (the CF doesnt wrap around
the edges, forming a purty curve) as you can see in the pic above. Mainly
though, the hood did in fact bolt on with no problem. There is a metal hood
latch SECURLY molded into the hood, which I liked. There are also little
indentments on the top of the hood for the windshield washer nozzles(which
i'll install this weekend)
Once I bolted the hood on, I tried to shut the hood and noticed that the
saftey latch would click, but that I couldnt close the hood. This was
because of the two small "lips" on the hood lock. I decided that the lips
were an unnesessary item and thus removed them:

Eager to put the hood on ASAP, I neglected to purchase hood pins before I
Installed the hood. This made for a VERY scary ride for the following
24hrs. Whereever I drove, the hood would bounce around like it was about to
fly off any moment! Bah!
The next day @ 8am, I went to OG Racing in manassas and picked up a set of
silver Sparco hood pins and thus installed them. If you've ever installed
hood pins, you know how heart breaking it can be to have to drill into a
new hood. I cried several times. :(
But all is well and done:

Overall, I like the hood a lot. The OE Tuning people were very nice as
well, and I'd recemend their product to you. (the end)
Is it just me or does my car totally look like an R32 in the 2nd pic? Or,
atleast remind you of one?
