View Full Version : Z32 5spd on a ka24de?

I have heard many rumors that the z32 5spd tranny can be bolted up to a ka24de by using the ka bell housing on the z32 5spd.

In my search, I have found nothing to back this. I did see where custom built adapter plates can be used, but nothing to support using a stock ka bell housing.

1: Is this possible?

2: If so, How?

3: What would be effected? ( shifter location, tranny length, cross-member location, ect...)

Again, I have searched the tech forum high and low but cant find anything to completely answer my questions.

Any advise on this being flaming or informative would be great.

Thanks....

must machine bell housing to fit on your KA with the adapter.

shifter location might be changed "dont remember", new tranny mount, and new driveshaft "i think cant think of it at the moment".

link to the shop that does must of this stuff.

That's what I've found in all my searching.
The car in question will be under 450hp and considering the cost I think it might be worth staying with the stock transmission.

If anyone else has any more information on a less expensive way to run a z32 5sd on a KA, please post!!

Thanks...

Stay stock. KA tranny are pretty tough IMO.

Well if you've seen that link, why would you assume your idea could also work? It's obvious just swapping the bellhousing won't work otherwise Mazworx wouldn't machine and offer all the custom parts required, they'd just say "swap the bellhousing and you're done". Whoever told you differently is a moron.
