well, my little red connector (power distribution block from what i've searched?) on the positive post of the battery, is burnt and melted on the side that is closest to the engine and only that side. this has made my electrics very unstable, sometimes the car will not start unless i wiggle the red connector a bit and im not entirely sure of a way to fix it or where to find a new one, if i could find a new one. better yet, how could it be burned and melted?

Get a new battery terminal with multi openings. Any auto parts store should have it.

any ideas as to why its all melted to hell? would this explain why my car jerks and my radio shuts off when i turn my hi beams on?

Its all melted because you had a short somewhere and it was pushing more power thru the wire than it could handle.
You might want to check wiring and fuses.

Another possibility to it being melted is that over time the connection gets corroded and builds up resistance which translates to it getting hot. This is common on other import headlight bulb connectors.
