I'm at wits end here, so I figured I could turn to the pros here on Zilvia. I'd try to search using the handy-dandy RED search button, but I'm not exactly sure what to search for. So here's the problem, so if you can stay with me...
A few weeks ago, I'm driving the 240 to meet up with a few friends. I was driving along another friend in his BMW 330 and, being stupid, we decide to do a 3rd gear pull. Mind you, my 240 is bone stock aside from a K&N drop-in filter and an open CAT (stock exhaust rusted out). I hung with him to the top of 3rd and we both shut down :D. At this point nothing sounded out of the ordinary, nor did it feel it. I down shift coming up to a red light (rev matching the whole way) and come to a stop. Go to put the car in 1st gear, resists. Get into first with just a little more force then normal, give gas and release clutch... nothing. Car's still running, but somewhere in the tranny, things aren't right. There's still pressure in the pedal, so I figure I didn't loose pressure in any lines. And with my foot off the clutch, I can select any gear (including reverse). Me MAD!!!
Fast forward to last weekend. Myself and a few friends finally get around to dropping the tranny, and what a pain I might add. Get it out, and find that one of the retaining spring and holder spring from withdrawl lever and release sleeve (respectively) are not properly seated. Everything else in the bell-housing appears kosher. So we check the integrity of the spring real quick, seem good, reseat them and put the tranny back up. After bolting everything up, draining and filling the tranny with new fluid, I get the car on the ground and... drum roll please...
NOTHING!!! Well... same thing as before. I'm lost, any ideas??? Please help me out...
Cliff notes:
1) Tranny not working. Feels like spring on release bearing not allowing input shaft (output shaft?) to engage.
2) Dropped tranny and reseated said spring.
3) Bolt tranny up, new fluid, start car, no workie!
4) :bash:
EDIT: As if it wasn't obvious, stock KA24DE with 5-speed manual
