Put all the bearings in, and thrust washers, tightened down girdle like the FSM says.

In the FSM it doesnt tell you exactly how to check.

It just says, Measure crankshaft endplay and it shows a picture of a guy sticking a feeler gauge in between the crank and the 3rd main cap. well there is pretty big gap there, way passed the limit when i used the feeler gauge.

soo im guessing im measuring from the wrong spot, or not sticking it in far enough down, to actually hit the thrust washer.

Another thing that made sense to me was turning the crank a little, so I could see part of the thrust washer, and i measured from there(inbetween thrust washer and crank)and it is within spec.

im hoping that is where you are supposed to measure, because then i'm all good lol

Would just like some clarification before I continue.

thanks.

YOu'll want to measure the gap (with thrust bearing/washer intalled) between the bIt says to measure actually beween the bearing (once installed) and the side of the crank

Yup! I forget the exact clearences off the top of my head, but even from FWD motors, I've never seen one out of spec, even with crazy heavy pressure plates.
