hey haha uhh i have been driving the 240 i bought for about a week now and i noticed that there was smoke coming from my steering column right by the ignition switch.... and to put the icing on the cake it just stoped working this morning.... i was driving and it just stoped firing haha the speedo wont turn on and the windows wont roll down so i dont know wtf haha i am going to swap the engine eventually so if anyone knows whats going on let me know im going to go check it out this afternoon.... maybe i should just let it go till i have the money for the swap??

exposed wiring causing a short...
usually happens when people/install shops do a half assed alarm installed...or removed the alarms and didnt cover shit up right...ur gonna have to take off the panel pieces and check out the wiring back there...

yeah i dont have a clue what happened to the car before i got it but the body is good hahaha ill take a look

I would have to agree. You don't know how many of this I have seen. I would really suggest you look underneath for those exposed wires before it starts a fire. Depends on which wires are touching but they get hot and really fast.

this happened to me on my buddies car shit cought on fire :(. its usualy those two big two wire plugs that shit rite above the fuse box. i have had a couple cars come thru with the same problem
