I currently have a 95 240sx. The problem is when I turn the ac/heater/defroster on all it does just blow air through the defrost vents. not defrosting at all. what is the problem? what components do I need to replace? thanks!

You're not very specific. I'm guessing it doesn't matter which button is pressed on the controls? Is the air that blows cool, warm?

If there's only hot air but not conditioned, your A/C compressor isn't working. If it's blowing air but not in the right position, the mode door motor is bad. Your post leaves a ton of open questions.

If the air that is coming out of the defrost vents is still coming out at the temperature you have the little slide set to, but wont come out anywhere but the defrost vents no matter which button is pushed, then it is the mode door motor gone bad. The mode door defaults to the defroster vents if the motor goes bad.

it just blows regular air. no heat or a/c just simply air and the slide temperature and buttons dont even work also.

in all instances i've had where a heater core had/was going bad, there was usually a leak in it. could be blower motor, blower motor resistor, blower motor relay, or even a relay thats on the circuit board on the air selector switch.
those are just general answers that arent necessarily 240 specific, but take the ones that apply and go from there.
