not only am i a newb to this site, but also to car audio. i have the stock 6 speaker set up, and it sounds like doggy doodoo. would these work in my front doors? how do you guys think they would sound compared to stock? i'm not really into all the bass and stuff, but i do want a nice, clean sound. i've also heard it helps to bypass the factory amps in the trunk. btw, i have a JVC headunit.

Yes, but they look like they would sound like A$$. Personally, a nice two way will kill a 4 way flashy unit anyday.
They are made for loud voice. You put 440 watts into them, you better have a fire extinguisher handy. Wattage rating is the giveaway..it is total :BS:
Making a plate and putting a two way like boston acoustics or some raw components would be better IMHO. Most speakers a have heard like that sound =tinny=, shouty and skreechy, with nothing but sizzle and voices sounding like coming from a bull horn. Get something good!

Look at www.madisound.com and look at some morels. They will sound balanced, not shouty.

PS: Go to a car stereo shop and see what they think about those. See what they suggest. :)

In response to your question, yes they will fit.
But I agree with Bill Roberts, when he says they will sound funny.
I personally have had the 3 way versions of those speakers in my current and previous car. They sounded sweet and crisp for about six months, after that... they go downhill fast.
They just start bottoming out and sounding like mud. I thought it was a fluke in my last car, so I bought them again.:bash: This is on deck power I might add. It's not like I'm hitting them with a component amp with more juice than they can handle.
So needless to say, when I do save up enough cash to get a new pair they won't be pioneer.

cool, thanks for the advice, guys! i'll probably shy away from these, and get a two way speaker.
