Nanobots.
Google in our brain.
The next evolution of man.
Live forever as a program.
The extinction of man.
Your thoughts?

i saw something like this yesterday on the discovery channel about how now the miatary is using robot to find bombs and all type of shit its saving lives so thats dope as fuck but they said now how they are making computer more with a mind of thier own and they might turn on thier creators but thats just a little scenario u know fuck it well see what happens

I wouldn't mind having my cell phone, wallet, & keys implanted in the body.
At the very least I wouldn't be mis-placing them around the house.

i wouldn't let anyone put any kind of locator chip into my body, there is one already available by the way. i don't want the government to control me or locate me easily.
however, im with the program of growing body parts and such for human body. they already grew bladder and inserted it into someone. next what they doing is growing from human tissue, hearts, livers, ears, arms, legs, kidneys, etc. pretty much instead of looking for a donor or a crash victim to take organs and so on, they make u one out of ur cells. imo its the best idea ever!!!
technology is advancing into the future and the scientists are figuring out more and more ways to make human life easier, however that means we can live a long time.....in the cause of that we will over run the planet completely. there has to be balance in life, the more ppl in the world, the more stress on the earth and polutions, etc.
nanobots are also a known thing. military has use for them already as a killer on the inside of the enemies body. medical use for them is to cure us from the inside, including bad cells, cancers, etc.
this topic is really endless. posibilities are in the hands of the mind of the creators.

How are they growing body parts?
Stem cells?
Any chance brain tissue could be grown.
I hope this is the path to immortality
(well, even an increased lifespan would be nice).

How cool would that be? Increased lifespan, I think I would end up killing my self if I was immortal.

I think that the human race has evolved too far. I think we should all throw down our technology and return to a more primitive way of life. Making temporary houses out of sticks and animal hides. Killing animal with sharpened sticks. Taking shits behind trees and not using tp because you just spread your cheeks far apart so poo doesn't get anywhere except on the ground.

It's funny because before every technological revolution, a lot of people have said this. I guess the overwhelming truth is you can't stop innovation and progress, even if it means our own downfall.
Unless, you're the Catholic Church. Ask them how they got it done back in the day.

boring.
we're all gonna die anyways
why does anyone care about the fate of humanity
nanotechnology is going to have a huge role in our lives in the next 50 years
i personally cant wait lol
technology is here to make things better for us not to destroy us
governments are the ones with the power to destroy not technology
we all could have been dead long time ago if it were the governments choice

To hell with death (along with growing old, getting cancer, going bald, PE, etc).
I don't want any of that!
I'm optimistic technology will make all those inconveniences go away.

we havent evolved at all since technology came about...this is a process that takes decades..
i was thinking about this earlier today while driving..will our immune system weaken due to medicine?, will we have to have c sections(correct me if mispelled) due to our heads/brains getting bigger? will we be bald due to no need of hair? hmmm who knows

Not as many decades as you would think. The rate that technology and data moves at is multiplied. The more and more it is multiplied the faster it accelerates and sky rockets to unfathomable heights.
Whereas you might be dealing with 2x2=4, 4x2=8, pretty soon your dealing wiht multiples in the thousands and so on...
We are reaching that point or so they believe and these dudes have been right about a lot of the techy shit in recent years, so it just might start taking off beyond our control a lot sooner than you might think.

I think what you're trying to say is that tech is advancing at an exponential rate.
this is truly an interesting time to be alive.
I think some tech elements aren't always in everyone's best interests.
What I'm worried most is the alarming cancer rates in the US.
Was something like 20% of the US population dying of cancer few yrs ago?
Maybe it's more now.
Why are obesity rates like 35%, while they were like 20% in the 1950's?
there's probably a whole lot more carcinogens (cancer-causing agents), and other complications than there were 50 yrs ago.
There's a price for everything.
I'm sure you can go on & on about endless likewise topics.

The government doesn't give a fuck about you. Why would they waste their time knowing where you are 24/7? There's too much money to be made fucking everyone in the ass with bullshit like health insurance.
If you want to worry about big brother and shit tracking you, take a look at On Star and what it's capable of doing now. Oh, and the government has their foot in GM. :P

yeah i was talking about physical and biological evolution
now as far as technology, well thats a whole other story..we'll probably be having small colonies in space by 2050, nano technology will have small devices in your clothing that are continuously keeping track of your body(for disease, damage, temperature, etc), definitely have robots...shits gonna get crazy, if we don't die out that is

i think it might be stem cell research and other stuff combined.
they haven't said that it was possible to create a brain that will function the way a brain should, but it is possible for them to grow it if they are growing complicated things like heart and lungs and so on. but I read that the exoskeleton, such as robo arms and legs are going to be more effective for bones. If u guys remember General Grievous from Star Wars, he had robot body, but heart, lungs, brain and eyes of a human. Now imagine that being true! Possibly terminator status, skin over metal bones but organs of a human? Wolverine comes to mind.....Super human power and abilities to regenerate from wounds. Sign me in!
why u need more brains? not smart enough? hehe.
or u just want to save urself from brain eating zombies? LOL!

Evolution isn't a process that stops and starts when it feels like it.
Evolution can absolutely be ushered along by outside sources such as technology. I mean think about it this way, if you took a third world country that is poverty striken, and disease ridden, then you give them the means to cure themselves and provide wealth. I am talking all the medications and technologies that we have at zero cost, how quickly do you think they would turn around? MUCH faster than the decades it could (or even longer perhaps) take for them to turn it around themselves.
Technology forces our hand in so much of our life as it is, evolution is typically viewed as a SMALL and GRADUAL change. With some of the technology we have and will have in the future plan to skip over evolving and just replace what could be grown with metal and robotics.
theicecreamdan

Evolution isn't going to be stopped by anything. It may change the direction that it takes us, but the changes created by evolution are a product of the imperfections of life. Technology can't replace our imperfections.
or u just want to save urself from brain eating zombies? LOL!

It's funny to hear you guys talk about technology as if it were some kind of wild animal growing in some distant jungle and we just sit at home hoping it it doesn't grow claws...
Technology is moved forward by people. Engineers, clinical researchers, scientists of all types. New tech is actually very transparent and a lot of information is available to layman as long as you can understand it.
Granted the government, and large corporation hold a lot of new tech classified. But the foundation for most technology is available to the public. Whether it be stem cells and cloning. Or propulsion, and electromagnetism. There is data available for all of us to study and understand.
Technology is a great thing. I see huge advances from year to year in my profession and it really is exciting.
And BTW if you believe in evlouton then you should know that though it seems evolution takes a long time to operate it often makes huge leaps forward completely skipping steps and surprising science. Such as the jump fro instinct to consciousness.

That's somewhat contradictory. People these days are too lazy to understand more than one profession, if that many.
Honestly I sorta hoped this thread was about black holes or the big bang.
