ive done searching and have some ideas but iwant a more personal response to mycertain problems....so here it goes

1.i just replaced my 02 sensor and my plugs and wires

heres the problem-before and after changing those, the car would start fine whencold, but when hot, if i shut off and tried to start, it would stumble horribly and every once in a while, die right when it started. then once running, it would have a horrendous idle and feel like it was missing. also, its runningREALLYrich, ive got a huge black spot onthe back of my car from it

running when cold, it feels fine and perfect, it even idles fine. but once hot, the idle jumps constantlyfrom 500 to 1200ish.

Im not sure if this is related but the car also has these two other problems, wheni press the brakes, the backlights of mydash dim and mystereo light dims(like its draining too much)

also, when cold, after shifting, it feels crisp and feels solid. When warm, after shifting gears, right when i shift it feels really rubbery and it kind of stops accelerating for a secondand thenstarts again...Like a wave motion(just trying to describe what it feels like)

please helpme!

Is your car bringing up any codes? Sounds like lots of electrical problems. No codes, check all electrical/ground connections. Maybe you might have got a bad o2 sensor from the store (happens). Give me some more info and I will try to help.:D

Well, ive never gotten a check engine light, so i would assume that means its not putting any codes out correct me if im wrong on that??

also, my hud went out last sunday and for some reason, after changing the o2 sensor, i noticed it came back on today. i dun get it and im sad:(

I am more of a "got to be there and hear it to tell" type of mechanic. I wish you lived close so I could drop by and give you a hand. Are there any mechanic's on here that live near you that can help? This 240sx needs a gearhead, stat! ;)

the 89-90 doesn't have a check engine light to come on.

or at least - mine doesn't.

i'd try to pull the codes anyways.
