View Full Version : Ride Height, I'm sick of it. How do I fix this?

hi, having a camber/ride height issue w/ my s13. when I bought the car it came with tanabe coilovers and 210 springs. now I had some mad camber in the back, but with a welded dif..i was running through a set of rear tires in like a month and a half. had to do something. so I bought some Godspeed project camber adjusters to at least extend the life of my tires by a little. long story short, a shop raised my rear ride height up like 3-3.5inches when installing my camber adjusters (without my permission) and wouldn't fix it until I got new tie rod ends. now it's about 4 months after I got the camber adjusters, and I just put on new tie rod ends and had it aligned today at a different (more trusted) shop. they still didn't drop the back down anywhere near as much as I wanted them to (they dropped it like an inch, I want the coils just about all the way down, and they still have a good 2 inches to go) they said the adjusters are at their limit and they cant drop it down any lower without having negative camber. I'm willing to have a little camber for one slammed ride. but my point to all of this is, I dont think they used the adjusters correctly, Im pretty sure they can keep going out even farther. I mean, adjusters are made to have a wide adjustment range right? I bought them so it can be low and have stable camber, not raised and stable camber. any tips? I don't really have any money to take it to a shop, so anything at home you think I can do would be awesome. possibly some sites that have information that I need? thanks in advance.

Wait, you want the car slammed, but all you have is a RUCA in the rear? You do know that you get to a point that you'll need adjustable toe rods too. They probably adjusted the height to the lowest point they can get it to with out the stock toe rods maxing out.

Also, you get to a point that the stock traction rods maxes out after adding an adjustable RUCA and toe rod, you might as well buy those too if you really want to max it out.

PS: No matter how great your alignment is, welded diff will eat your fucking tires no matter what. You want your tires to last...DONT MAKE TURNS!!!

s13boy..grammar, have you heard of it? I had to reread that like 4 times.

but to the legitimate post, fliprayzin thanks. that does make sense. I would have bought all i needed when I got the camber adjusters but I'm on a tight budget :-/ but thanks for the parts list lol. I'll work on that next.

On a side note, stay away from Godspeed shit. Buy some decent arms, otherwise you'll be replacing those as well.

yeah i heard ya there slow40, its retarded how quick you can go thru tires w/ a welded lol. i mean i def get looks for it; and all these ppl w/ that "whats making that noise?" look on their face. its a nice feeling :) but def thanks for the heads up about godspeed products JR, i'll be sure to stay away from them from here on out. i'm gonna work on getting the toe rods and such, and after i'll probably get new camber arms. thanks again!

cheap arms are ok, so long as you get decent bearings for them. but at that point you could also just get SPL or similar brand and be set. You're call!

You should've just left it low with lots of camber.

Find a trusted shop that will mount tires cheaply,
then when you wear down the inside of the tire, get the tires remounted so the worn edge is on the outside and the full tread is on the inside

That only works with symmetrical tires, but it doubles the life of your tires

You guys all suck.

First of all, a welded diff isn't killing your tires.

Second, your TOE is killing your tires.

You need to take care of that first, because TOE kills tires, not camber.

Camber just causes uneven wear. Get your Honda senses out of here.
