Decent rims/tires should cost at least a grand.
Coils + arms + bracing = around 2 grand.
That leaves 3 grand for the SR swap, which will do just fine if you do the work yourself.

Of course, if you do the typical bandwagon fanboi noob thing, you can score some shitty wheels with shitty tires for 500 or less, plus some shitty used coils and shitty eBay arms for under a grand, leaving you with more than enough to have a shitty shop do your SR swap, allowing you to post shitty pics of your shitty, poorly put together bandwagonmobile.
[Don't do that.]

Well a friend of mine sells me the SR with everything and swapped in the car for like $2500. It all depends on what type of wheels you want, what suspension you want and what is your goal with your engine. If you want it for drag, drift, etc; it all depends in what do you want with it, how many whp you want. You can reach easily 300whp with less money.

Makes a very good point, if your worried about your car and how it was put together when you "bought it built" you can tear it apart and change things around to how you want it... i bought my s14(ka/auto) for about 5k and dropped another 4-5k in doing a motor swap(rebuilt redtop)/manual swap, imho i would have been better off buying a car with the swap already and then changing/doing what i wanted to the car...

Build not bought.... Bs... I am building my own car because I got it for free. But just so u can say u built it u going spend alot more cash? Makes no sence to me. My buddy picked up 91 240sx jdm front end, sr, and coilovers and some other goodies for 3400! I know u can get some cars for a good price. Especially now... Cash is king...

I've built 2 cars. Eeefff that the next one I'm buying semi-built and tailor it to my needs. Let the other sucka waste his money. Being on both sides of the fence, If you don't plan to own the car for a long period of time you will most likely be better off buying a semi-built or built car. Look at the classifieds for example. To the OG question if you DIY 6K will be more that enough. If you pay a shop your giving away at least 2k you could spend in "upgrades".
