I have an rb20t, i was driving it and it started to overheat. I shut it off to let it cool down. Started it back up and drove it for 30 minutes, it overheats again. Now it cranks but no fire. No start up. The oil smells like burned popcorn! haha.
Could i have a damaged head gasket?
Is it an electrical issue?
How can i work this out?

check the simple things first like spark and fuel. if your getting spark and fuel, next check compression and timing.

Your plugs could be shot from running the motor hot.

not starting? its cause ur missing .5 liters.

jk but check ur radiator that its not leaking, next would be the thermostat. and start worrying about the head gasket. you most likely hurt it
