I just found out that it is possible to get and drive a right-handed s15 in the US legally. My friend went to an import/export company the other day and saw a s15 for sale, the complete car, the price was approx $22,000. We know people that can get it legalized for ALOT less than what motorex is asking for with the skylines in the US. If you knew that you can drive a s-15 in the US for around $30,000. Would you buy one? I sure in hell would. It beats driving my n/a 240, and it would sure **** the hell off of all those ricers out there. wuts your take?

for 30k i would have my 240 driving circles around that thing, looking better, and still have 15k left to fly around the world a few times. Not to mention, you should love your car, N/A or not a 240 is a fun car, living in a pipe dream isn't going to make you happy! life is short, enjoy what you got.
I Do! :D

I guess I'll have to get a 'legal' S15 to go with my 'legal' Eunos Cosmo and my 'legal' Nissan President and my 'legal' Nissan Cedric...
Find me a TRULY legal (here in the states & meeting all US DOT & NHTSA standards) S15 (not a VIN swapped S15, or otherwise illegally registered car) and I'll give you $5.
There are no companies stateside that compliance S15s for use in the US.

i dunno, i can think of some NICE cars i would rather have for $30
*cough* motorex R32 for one. EVo8, RX8, 350z, STI, G35...
and they're legal, not "legal".

Bee Ess.
You know people that can swap VINs, or channel it through a non-title state with no inspections, or reg it as a kit car.
None of these things are legal. Trust me, these tricks are as old as the import laws themselves, and people get busted for doing it.
The only legal way to import a car is to convert that car's safety and emissions systems to US spec and verify this for the interested parties. For a car that was never sold here, that means crash testing.

Only $30?!?!? I'll buy any car for $30!! Heh j/k, man
But I think he's referring to this one:

Seriously tho, that car has been there for atleast a year. If they really wanted to sell it, why don't they legalize it themselves and sell it that way? Considering sticker price is around $25k its not that great of a deal, right?
Either ways, I'd take the R33 they have for sale. Take it to Motorex and have it completely legal, paperwork and everything :D

I'm with pruto, 30k? you could buy a R32 GTR from Motorex for like 2k more . Or a brand new 350, G35 coupe 35k , me thinks 30k for a S15 is a big waste of cash.

ive been looking into skylines and silvias in the US, ive heard from many people that you can do legalize a silvia cause they will not m,eat us crash test laws, were as skylines do. so i heard it is vertially impossible to have a legalized siliva in the us, you can get them but not be driven on the street?

You cant legalize that car. It's new enough that it would require crash testing. So you would have to buy at least 2 :D.

It's not impossible to get a legalized Silvia.
It's just expensive.
Look at what Motorex had to go through to bring Skylines stateside. At least they have cars that people don't mind paying a premium for.
Very few people would pay 30,000 for a Silvia. That's why people haven't bothered to jump through the legalization hoops: there isn't a profitable market.

That guy
why buy an s15 anyway, your only doing it for looks, you can get the engine and the 6speed tranny if you really want, and get the headlights, all no problem, even get the seats and steering wheel and shift knob in your car. Now why spend so much for some tail lights

Silvia S15 isnt "all that". For a little more, you could have a faster, newer G35 coupe and not worry about any legal hassles (smog, emissions, registration) whatsoever. Plus it wont be a pain in the *** getting used to how to drive it (drive-thrus, parking, etc) because the G35 is already LHD. That RHD is another unnecessary hassle whose popularity is fueled by JDM hype.

how many girls know what an s15 IS?
your better off with the G35 coupes for chicks, but if you really want chicks get a vert, mustang vert would do. Power doesn't matter with the "type" of girl you would get over a car. Its all bout the name, price (if its popular) and option of drop top.

Dunno bout you, but I'm not about to make expensive car decisions because of girls, who generally dont know too much about cars...

 Is that an RB25/26DET?
Who's Karl? I'm still new to the 240SX scene, being a Maxima / Eclipse / Fiero owner.
That's exactly what I'm looking for. Info on the RB25/26 swap. All I seem to find using search are flame threads :)

BACK on topic.
That much for a used entry level sports car is. . . pretty damn retarded. Plunk the money on a Z or put it into your 240. Unless of course you really REALLY want an s15. . .
