s13 sr just did a rebuild with brand new oil pump and have made sure the oil pan is not hitting the oil pickup primed the oil pump through the oil pressure sensor port and that the oil pickup has no leaks on it or to the oil pump. i got a lil creative and managed to fix up a turkey baster to a hose and got it to fit in the hole where the oil pickup goes and started filling up the oil pump that way and turned the engine from the crank to get the oil pump gears moving and never got it to suck any oil up. and also when filling up the oil pump that way i heard bubbles or a little leak and saw oil dripping down the back of the oil pump, couldn't see where it was coming from, could it be that little o ring that goes in between the oil pump and the block? or is it like a faulty oil pump or something? Any help appreciated

To prime my sr20det pump i pulled the the cover on the back side of the oilpump/timingchain cover 4 or 5 bolts/screws hold it on i filled every little gape i could with vaseline and put it back together, this helps the oilpump create a vacuum and pull oil to it...
